What started as a transcontinental love story culminated in a beautiful union of two souls in the pink city. Boshika and Chirag celebrated their bond with not one but two intimate ceremonies surrounded by their loved ones. Watch their story unfold below.
How they met
Journalist Boshika Gupta and Engineer Chirag Toshniwal crossed paths on a matrimonial platform. Working halfway across the world from each other in Dubai and Toronto respectively, their search for true love brought them to the digital platform, but after a couple of months of talking they lost touch temporarily. Re-connecting during the pandemic over amusing interactions with matrimonial prospects, they realized they were starting to fall for each other. When they finally met in Mumbai in February 2021, they knew instantly that their search was over.
The Proposal
Boshika shares, “Chirag knew that this was the real deal but it took me some time to feel certain. However, when we met for the first time at ITC Maratha in Mumbai, I couldn’t help but marvel at how easy it was to be with him. We spoke for hours and knew that this was the start of something special. Even though we didn’t have a big proposal, our journey has been filled with lots of meaningful moments of love. Chirag did get down on one knee and gave me a ring, right before our civil ceremony on a rainy day in Bandra. I don’t think I’ve ever blushed as much as I did at that moment. We followed up the ceremony with a celebratory lunch with our families at ITC Maratha, where it all started”.
Wedding Planning
After a civil ceremony in July 2021 with their closest family members, the couple tied the knot with a grand celebration in May 2022 at Radisson Jaipur City Center. Planning across two timezones and coordinating with vendors across several cities, they relied on the assistance and support of their friends and family to pull off their dream wedding. From designing their invites to finding the perfect photographers, they savored every moment of the planning process, and even though it was stressful at times, it was also infinitely memorable with the help of their tribe.
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
The #BoshTosh wedding bash started with a lively mehndi celebration. Fuss-free, relaxed, and colorful, the function saw rousing music as everyone enjoyed themselves and got their hands painted with beautiful henna designs. Dressed in soft pastel shades, the couple looked radiant seated against a simple yet stunning backdrop of drapes and marigolds.
The Wedding
Boshika shares, “Our wedding day was full of chaotic but memorable moments. Chirag and I made sure to find some time for just the two of us, talking to our photographers and sharing our thoughts in candid interviews, moments before we walked down the aisle. From the decor to our outfits, we kept everything minimal and elegant as we wanted the focus to be on just the two of us and our love for each other’s quirks.”
The Reception
Swapping out a formal Reception for a fun, laidback party, the newly married couple enjoyed the evening interacting with their loved ones. The elegant decor saw green foliage, flowers, soft lighting, and chandeliers. Music and merriment reigned as they all celebrated with delicious food, memorable toasts, and more. The function was also followed by a party in Mumbai for all the guests who couldn’t make it to their wedding.
