Deepshikha and Prabhat, Varanasi

Bangalore based tech professionals Deepshikha and Prabhat celebrated their whirlwind romance with a wedding in their hometown of Varanasi that exuded old-world charm. The bride shared her journey of love with us.

How They Met
The bride recollects, “The first time we crossed paths was on his birthday when we were introduced to each other by a mutual friend. Soon we were talking nineteen to a dozen over endless conversation, friendly banter and laughter, we soon realized we had fallen head over heels in love. Just six months later, it was over a casual phone conversation when Prabhat popped the question to me. The earnestness and genuine love in his voice was all I needed to answer with an unwavering “yes”, because I knew I had found my partner for life”.

Wedding Venue
“Even though we live in Bangalore, we both hail from the holy city of Varanasi, and it felt really emotional to tie the knot there. Furthermore, I am a firm believer in Lord Shiva, and getting married in his abode added even more value to the occasion. We zeroed in on Ramada Plaza by Wyndham JHV for the celebrations” shares the bride.

Wedding Functions
Engagement
The celebrations kicked off with a stunning engagement high on glamour. The groom looked dapper in a three piece suit by Kora while enrobed in a shimmering silver gown by Shrangar, the bride entered with professional dancers. The evening saw exotic, lush decor, heady performances and spectacular cake cutting.

Mehndi
The vibrant mehndi saw an amazing spectrum of colors for the lively festivities. Splashes of orange and green ruled the decor with an abundance of marigold, along with quirky props such as colorful umbrellas. The bride looked radiant in a yellow and pink lehenga with floral jewelry.

Haldi
For the auspicious Haldi festivities, the intricately created decor of yellow and orange marigolds was a burst of sunshine. The floral decked swing and chandelier were absolutely captivating.

Wedding
Hosted in the majestic ballroom, the Wedding festivities exuded grandeur and royalty. The bride dazzled in a rich embellished maroon and gold lehenga from Shrangar, accessorized with plush traditional Polki jewelry. The groom stunned in a decadent midnight blue and gold sherwani by Tejas Harish.

Reception
The festivities concluded with a splendorous Reception. The decor of gold, white and red glittered in the glow of the huge Victorian cascading chandeliers. The groom looked suave in a sleek ink blue sherwani by Tejas Harish while the bride donned a flowing yellow gown by Dalmia Fashions.

Advice for couples
“Focus on finalizing the three most important things in your wedding, namely, your outfits, makeup and photography. You are going to remember your wedding day for the rest of your life, every time you glance at the photographs, you need to be happy with how you looked and felt.
