Dheera and Sunny, Goa

Dheera and Sunny worked as cabin crew in the same airline. They were first acquainted 35,000 feet above the ground on a flight that they were both assigned to. A demanding job like this had them away from each other for days on end, hence maintaining a relationship for them was quite a challenge. However, thanks to their smartphones, the two managed to stay in touch despite the miles between them. As love steadily blossomed, the duo realized that they couldn’t stay apart anymore, which then spurred them to tie the knot. Orchestrating their elegant and joyful nuptials in the ever picturesque Goa were WeddingSutra Favorite – Pataka Events who with their meticulous planning and creative insights made sure this gorgeous couple’s vision came true.

How They Met

Dheera shares, “We first met on a flight in 2017, where we both worked as cabin crew in the same airlines. Quickly, we started talking and developed a liking for each other. After the flight, Sunny asked me out for coffee and we soon became friends, which, quickly transitioned into dating. However, if you’re in the airline industry and constantly globetrotting, keeping a steady relationship can be difficult. But, somehow, we managed to pull it off with ample co-ordination.”

Wedding Venue

Held at the coastal Riva Beach Resort, Goa, the couple’s nuptials were a feast for the eyes as it treated everyone to stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Sharing her experience, Dheera says, “I couldn’t be happier about our choice of venue. The staff was very welcoming and well trained. I’d most definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to have a beach wedding.”

Wedding Planning

With the colossal task of planning a destination beach wedding, the duo decided that it was best to rope in the experts. For their wedding planner, they chose Pataka Events who took charge at the helm and made sure everything went ahead smoothly. Dheera shares, “Team Pataka Events were extremely well organized and understood exactly what we wanted. With their dedication and hard work, they brought our vision to life. I would happily work with them again!”
Adding to the duo’s squad of vendors was also makeup artist Vinay Makeover who gave the bride one stunning look after the other.

Weddings Functions

Mehndi
A breezy and sunlit function, the mehndi was celebrated at one of the venue’s sprawling lush lawns where everyone basked in the sun while getting henna patterned on their hands. Making a smashing entry to colorful smoke bombs, the couple donned coordinated outfits for the occasion.

Glowing in a sleeveless light pink lehenga Dheera was all smiles as she posed with Sunny who’d donned a grey and shell-pink bandhgala for the occasion.

Cocktail
Boosting up the glamor stakes, the cocktail was a glitzy black-tie event where everyone turned up in their finest western attires. Surrounded by bright lights and crystal hangings under the dark star-studded sky, Sunny went down on his knee to declare his love for Dheera and slipped a stunning ring on her finger.

For the occasion, Dheera unleashed her inner diva in a bottle green sequin gown while Sunny looked dapper in a black tuxedo.

Wedding

Held next to the crashing waves against the pristine golden sands, Dheera and Sunny’s wedding followed a pink, coral, and sea-green color palette. A perfectionist to the core, the bride started her planning a year in advance and ensured each detail was looked into with complete thoroughness. However, there wasn’t much to be worried about as she had a stellar team to fall back on who understood her vision completely. Keeping it classic and simple in order to highlight the scenic beauty of the beach, the decor was largely floral with blooms in muted pink and red tones. Set against the backdrop of the foamy waves, their mandap paired off white and gold hues seamlessly to give one an impression of the open sky.

Dressed in a light pink and mint lehenga, Dheera was a complete stunner as she ambled along the beach with Sunny who opted for a white sherwani.

Reception
In contrast to the sunlit wedding, the reception was held under the open night sky where the newlyweds were surrounded by lush palm trees and their loved ones. Lounging on an ornate sofa placed on a stage that bore their monogram, the happy couple radiated joy and blissfully mingled with their guests.

Dressed in a chevron printed, one-shoulder green, and gold lehenga, Dheera was the epitome of glamor while Sunny contrasted her in a black contemporary sherwani.

Dheera shares, “Make sure you have a reliable team backing you up. In my case, my very proficient wedding planners were my entire support system, which in turn, allowed me to relax and enjoy every bit of my wedding.”
