Dhriti and Meet, Radisson Resort & Spa Lonavala
From a garden of marigolds to a hidden sangeet with retro themes, this wedding was a blend of tradition and modernity
Dhriti and Meet wedding was a celebration that blended tradition with modernity, hosted amidst the natural beauty of the hills at Lonavala. Starting with a Maratha Aangan theme for the mehendi, where the entrance was draped in genda phool ladis, each function stood out for its unique story. The sangeet was a Netflix-ABBA night and the wedding enjoyed floral backdrops and terracotta diyas, which created an intimate, festive glow. Capturing the bride and groom in stunning shots and the guests in memory-defining frames was WeddingSutra Favorite – Seventy By Two.
How they met
Dhriti and Meet connected online two years ago, only to discover that not just had they attended the same school and college without ever crossing paths, but also that Meet’s cousin had been Dhriti’s best friend back. When they finally met in person, everything clicked instantly. After just a few dates, it was clear to both that this was something real.

Wedding Functions
Mehendi
The mehendi saw a Maratha Aangan theme, blending tradition with earthy beauty. The entrance was draped in genda phool ladis—thick marigold garlands filling the air with their festive scent—while terracotta pots hand-painted with Warli art added a rustic charm. Inspired by Maratha architecture, the couple’s photo backdrop carried the essence of heritage and warmth.
Guests joined the celebration dressed in traditional Marathi attire—men in topis, women with naths—adding authenticity to the vibrant setup. With traditional lezim dances, upbeat music, and a Maharashtrian food spread, the mehendi radiated color, culture and pure joy.
Sangeet
The sangeet, designed around a fusion of Netflix and ABBA, had an entrance through a secret red door that led into a hall of mirrors made from parking mirrors. Melting mirror disco balls and shimmering reflections set the tone for a true retro-glam night. The stage, inspired by ’90s television sets, glowed in red, maroon, and silver.
Carnival
The carnival drew inspiration from Jaipuri jharokas, with bougainvillea-draped arches and soft, elegant tones that brought a royal yet playful charm. From family photo frames to chit games each detail was well curated.
Dhriti in her green and ivory lehenga and Meet in his orange kurta made a striking pair as they danced and laughed with family, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead.

Wedding
The final celebration carried a cozy, earthy charm inspired by a nursery theme. Floral backdrops, terracotta diyas, and soft greens created an intimate, festive glow, while coffee-scented candles on each table added a personal touch to their story. Dhriti looked radiant in her pastel lehenga, and Meet, dapper in ivory, matched her grace effortlessly. Soulful tunes by Baldev R. Maheshwari and his band filled the air, creating an atmosphere that was both intimate and unforgettable.
Advice For Couples
“Enjoy the planning process and the main wedding especially. Keep all wedding functions/elements simple but unique to the two of you. Try to keep some time aside for each other during the planning phase, since it can be a lot.”
