When a bridal makeup artist steps into her own wedding, the celebration reflects a refined color palette and a clear sense of design. For WeddingSutra Favorite – Dimplle S. Bathija, a celebrity and bridal makeup artist based in Mumbai, her wedding to Vishal Budhwani was guided by her artistic instincts that made every event a standout one.
How They Met
Raised in the same city, Dimplle and Vishal’s lives ran parallel for years. They eventually connected on Happn, where Vishal became the first and only person Dimplle ever met through the app. Seven years of friendship formed the foundation, and by the eighth year, the shift from friendship to partnership felt natural, making the next step an easy one.
The Proposal
The proposal took place at Yona Beach Club in Phuket. Dimplle was there on what she believed was a routine work trip, unaware that Vishal had planned a surprise. Out at sea on a yacht, with open skies and music in the background, Vishal went down on one knee with roses and a two-heart solitaire ring.
Wedding Planning
The wedding was shaped by thoughtful, personal details that reflected Dimplle and Vishal’s shared sensibility. Planned with WeddingSutra Favorite – Genda Phool Weddings, each celebration was curated with a distinct mood and colour palette guiding every event, while still allowing the story to unfold seamlessly from one moment to the next. At the Mehndi, a perfume bar was set up for guests to create their own custom scents, turning the celebration into an interactive experience. For the pheras, Dimplle made her entry beneath a phoolon ki chaadar, with soft dry ice rising around her to create a dreamlike atmosphere. Dimplle performed a special dance for Vishal on her entry, followed by a surprise performance from him in return. As the festivities moved into the cocktail night, the energy shifted into something bold and celebratory. With each event brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – National Decorators, the evening featured a dynamic dancing entrance, a couple’s performance set against laser lights, silver confetti cascading through the space, champagne popping, and a cake adorned with hydrangeas and gypsophila.
Makeup remained Dimplle’s personal signature. She shares, “I’ve created countless bridal looks over the years, but doing my own on the most special day of my life felt empowering and emotional. Every brushstroke carried the excitement of creating the look I had always imagined. Doing my own bridal makeup was both a challenge and a dream, and my moment as a Makeup Artist bride felt incredibly meaningful.”

Mehndi
The Mehndi was set in soft pinks and oranges, creating a bright and feminine atmosphere. Floral accents and an easy, joyful mood set the tone for the celebrations, keeping the focus on togetherness.
Bridal Mehndi
The bridal mehndi at home embraced tradition. Marigolds, warm hues, and familiar textures brought intimacy to the setting, grounding the event in rituals that felt personal and comforting.
Cocktail
As evening set in, the celebrations transitioned into a blingy cocktail soirée. Disco balls, candlelight, and restrained sparkle defined the mood, adding energy without excess. Hydrangeas, gypsy blooms, and organza florals softened the look, while custom signage featuring caricatures of Dimplle and Vishal introduced a playful, personal touch. The dancefloor came alive as DJ Tarun took over the console, seamlessly blending crowd favourites with high-energy mixes that kept guests on their feet well into the night.
Wedding
The wedding ceremony unfolded beneath tall perennial blooms, with a mirrored aisle reflecting the surrounding florals and sky. Hydrangeas and colour bombs softened the structure, creating a calm and elegant setting for the pheras. The decor framed the rituals with restraint, allowing the moment itself to take centre stage.
