A celebration in the hills that brought together two cultures with a touch of Bollywood!
When Dinah met Adil, he had been on a soul-searching mission. And, he found that it was with Dinah that the answers lay. Adil is from Patna, although he lived most of his life abroad, and Dinah, is from Chennai. It was serendipitous that their worlds came together. And in the monsoon of 2024, the couple decided to join a forever partnership in the serene hills of Ooty, in celebrations planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Oh Yes Events .
Wedding Planning
The team at Oh Yes Events worked to transform this pretty hill station of Ooty into a mind-blowing setting for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. The wedding was a harmonious blend of Christian traditions and Baha’i religion at Ayatana Ooty, amidst the beautiful Nilgiri Hills. The venue, surrounded by tea plantations with the misty kiss of mountains, offers breathtaking surroundings for the special day.

Sangeet
Dinah and Adil wanted a Bollywood sangeet that would bring alive the rich cultural heritage from the silver screen in India. The couple’s entrance was cinematic, through a gigantic Bollywood-themed arch. The hanging lanterns glowed softly from the ceiling, and the low-raised seating on the lawn offered a comfortable and intimate setup so that guests could sit around, relax, and take in the evening. The Bollywood fusion music and a specially curated playlist kept the energy high and the dance floor alive. The guests also played Antakshari, and almost everybody sang with full hearts. A photobooth, the henna application stations, and traditional craft workshops made this sangeet stand out.
Wedding
For the wedding, the garden at the venue was transformed into an enchanting wonderland. Soft pastels and a delicate floral arrangement enhanced the elegance of the celebrations. Flowers were arranged with branches, vines, and greenery to add to the woodland feel. Thoughtfully placed pieces of vintage furniture added an old-world charm into a setting of modern romance. As Dinah made her entrance, her family held a Phoolon ka Chaddar above her.
The aisle, lined with florals, led to an intimate seating arrangement of cross-back wooden chairs, with additional tent seating providing cozy spots for the guests to relax and take in the beauty around them. A photo booth let everyone capture the joy of the day, even as live caricature artists captured the scene on canvas. Guests penned down their blessings and wishes on the memory tree.
Reception
The evening celebration had a more celestial atmosphere. The reception for Adil and Dinah promised a night of magic, mystery, and stardust. Pushcarts for chai, chaat, and mocktails brought in a fun element of interaction into the celebration. A neon photo booth epitomized the party spirit of the evening, with each guest posing to capture moments. The DJ kept the tempo alive by continuously balancing soulful songs with upbeat dance numbers.
