This couple’s wedding mandap embraced traditional glamour with its ivory latticework arches, chrome aisle and mirror work.
Disha Doshi and Vivek Tajpuriya’s regal wedding in Jaipur was a close-knit affair that didn’t cut back on grandeur. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ever After India, this wedding struck a fine balance between contemporary glamour and traditional elegance.
How They Met
Disha shares, “We’ve known each other from school. However, we didn’t interact with each other much back then. But, as we graduated we got back in touch! Since then, there has been no looking back as we dated for five years before taking the plunge.”
Wedding Planning
Disha shares, “Both of us have always wanted a regal, palatial wedding. For us, the wedding was an absolute dream come true as both our cultures – Gujarati and Marwari were fused seamlessly. Ever After India did their best to make our vision come to life. They were extremely dedicated and focused right from the very beginning to the end. They came up with unique ideas and always kept our needs as the top priority throughout the process.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Party
Disha shares, “For the welcome party, our theme was shades of pink and white with a royal bakery and lounge where the new arrivals could relax. The arriving guests were greeted with customized garlands, pink rose and royal oud-scented soaps and even a cake that matched the theme. They were also gifted pink and white turbans that they could wear at the wedding.”
Mehndi
The mehendi was a Marrakech- themed event packed with favours for the guests. Right from customized lipsticks for the guests, and waffles to special chaat stalls – this event had the guests mingling freely and hiking the henna-laden palms up in the air to shake a leg!
Mandap Muhurat
The ‘Patola’ themed mandap muhurat was adorned with white and pink floral arches that cut a striking contrast against the vintage interiors of the palace. Red drapes and circular wall hangings completed the look!
Sangeet
For the Winter Wonderland-themed sangeet, glamour took the front seat as the couple put their best foot forward onstage. Welcomed by graceful dancers the duo made a stunning entry with a confetti shower. After exchanging rings, the couple then took a seat to cheer on their loved ones as they grooved to Bollywood chartbusters.
Haldi
Eschewing the conventional all-yellow haldi, the couple decided to go for a blue and yellow-hued haldi decor. With mosaic patterns, white and blue cushions, fuss-free furnishings and pops of yellow blooms – the haldi was a breezy occasion where everyone playfully applied haldi to the to-be-weds.
Mayra
Flaunting a ‘Banarasi’ theme, the mayra was swathed in pinks, and oranges that were accentuated by shades of ivory. Life-size baby elephants crafted out of white blooms welcomed the guests while Banarasi sarees in a multitude of colours draped the walls.
Wedding
With a gorgeous thikri work mandap, a chrome aisle lined with blooms, graceful arches and scarlet blooms – the wedding was right in tandem with the couple’s vision of a regal wedding. As the bride made a graceful entry under the phoolon ki chaadar and the groom entered with traditional dancers in tow, the guests were in awe. Adding the cherry on top was a sparkling display of fireworks that burst right after the pheras. The couple shares, “The wedding was nothing short of a dream come true. Our varmala was exquisitely orchestrated and we couldn’t have asked for more.
