Diya Maitra and Siddharth Bhatia, Pleasant Tree Hotels, Dehradun
An ode to nature with its thoughtful design, this wedding in the hills was a serene one with its sage green and ivory hues.
Set against the quiet greens of the hills, Diya Maitra from Mussoorie and Siddharth Bhatia from Dehradun celebrated their wedding with a sense of calm elegance that felt instinctively in tune with their surroundings. Designed and conceptualised by WeddingSutra Favorite – Pleasant Weddings, the celebrations embraced nature-led aesthetics, thoughtful detailing, and a restrained palette that allowed both emotion and environment to take centre stage.

Wedding Planning
From the very first walkthrough, the design approach was clear and concise. “Diya and Siddharth wanted the décor to feel organic and immersive, almost as if the landscape itself was part of the celebration,” shares Tushar Gupta of Pleasant Weddings. “The idea was to enhance what already existed, not overpower it.”
Sage green and white emerged as the core palette, which was subtle yet striking, and perfectly suited to the outdoor venues. These hues were chosen not only for their serenity, but also for how beautifully they framed the couple’s wedding attire. A key design highlight was the Jai Mala stage, envisioned as a lush, natural green installation. Layers of foliage in deeper emerald tones were introduced to create contrast against the softer sage and white elements, giving the stage both depth and presence. “We wanted the Jai Mala moment to feel intimate but impactful,” explains Tushar. “The deeper greens helped anchor the space while still keeping the overall look light and refined.”

The wedding ceremony unfolded beneath a canopy of cascading florals and textured greens, with the mandap designed as an extension of the surrounding foliage. White blooms, natural leaves, and flowing drapes came together to create a setting that felt serene and grounded. Long floral aisles lined with delicate white arrangements guided the eye toward the mandap. Overhead installations of suspended blooms added movement and softness, while the sage accents subtly tied the entire setting together. “For the wedding, our focus was purity and flow,” notes Tushar Gupta. “Nothing was meant to feel heavy. Every element had to look alive, just like the space around it.”
