Lush cascading florals, peacock motifs and brass elements, this couple’s phera ceremony was a spectacular one!
Chennai-based Dr. V. Hamrutha and groom G. Aswin from Perambalur, owner of the renowned Aswin Sweets, one of South India’s most celebrated sweet brands are a pair defined by quiet grace. Their personalities, distinct yet complementary, create an effortless harmony. And, translating this balance into a celebration rich in tradition and visual splendour was the team at WeddingSutra Favorite – Spize Weddings and Events, who thoughtfully planned a wedding that felt rooted, refined, and emotionally resonant.

Wedding Planning
From the very first meeting in May, the vision was unmistakably clear. “Hamrutha and Aswin were deeply connected to their roots and very certain about how they wanted their celebrations to feel,” shares Reema Thakkar Tiwari of Spize Weddings and Events. Every element was planned with intention, ensuring the festivities honoured tradition while embracing a sense of grandeur. Both the wedding and reception were envisioned as immersive experiences that felt ceremonial yet memorable. Décor, rituals, and guest flow were all thoughtfully aligned to reflect authenticity, warmth, and cultural pride. “Our approach was to keep everything meaningful and layered,” explains Reema. “Nothing was decorative for the sake of it. Every detail had a purpose.”

Wedding
The wedding ceremony unfolded against a visually striking setting. The mandap was anchored by a dramatic lotus-inspired backdrop rendered in graduated tones of ivory, blush, and deep crimson, symbolising purity and prosperity. Overhead, layers of cascading floral garlands in red and white formed a canopy while traditional motifs and handcrafted panels adorned the sides of the stage. Brass elements, classical urns, and ritual arrangements were also placed with symmetry.
One of the most arresting details was the use of peacock motifs woven into the décor through illustrated panels and sculptural accents, adding a regal touch. The sacred muhurtham unfolded within this richly layered environment, drawing both families together. A graceful welcome dance followed, seamlessly blending celebration with tradition.

Reception
The reception stage featured classical arches softened with abundant florals in shades of blush, coral, ivory, and soft lavender. Crystal chandeliers and warm lighting cast a golden glow across the space, creating an atmosphere of old-world charm. Floral installations were suspended from overhead structures and pillars, enveloping the venue in layers of texture and colour. Statement floral arrangements framed the seating area, while delicate detailing ensured the setting felt luxurious yet inviting.
The couple’s grand entry was a true highlight of the evening. Set against bubbles, dancers, and synchronised choreography, it marked a jubilant start to the celebrations. “We wanted the reception to feel like a celebration of togetherness and joy,” shares Reema. In addition to the main reception for esteemed guests and VIPs, a separate gathering was thoughtfully hosted for staff members.
