Decorated in elegant hues and yet simplistic, this couple’s Dubai-based church wedding was a serene one.
Joel Noronha, a marketing professional, and Erin Pinto, a chartered accountant’s Dubai-based wedding exuded a sense of elegance and simplicity that one always finds at a Mangalorean Catholic wedding. How They Met
Erin shares, “We were introduced to each other through a matchmaker during the pandemic. With numbers exchanged, we started texting each other as Joel was based in Dubai and me in India. For three and a half months we chatted away and when the borders opened up after the pandemic, we decided to meet up in person in 2021. The best part was our comfort factor and it was like we were old friends!”
The Proposal
Recalling the surprise Valentine’s Day proposal that Joel had orchestrated for her, Erin shares, “On 14 February 2021, Joel planned a surprise dinner for me. After walking down a red carpet with candles lit on both sides, I was handed over a bouquet and a welcome drink by the hotel staff. We were then escorted to a white cozy cabana, and just before we could take a seat Joel went down on one knee and popped the question. I was super stunned but obviously said a ‘yes!’. It was the most magical and dreamy proposal ever, and we celebrated over champagne and a scrumptious seven-course meal by the sea!”
Wedding Planning

Weddings Functions
Roce
A traditional ritual where the couple is anointed with a mixture of coconut milk and oil, the Roce flaunted a tropical theme with regal-looking hues. Shades of green and gold were used across the venue which looked elegant as it seamlessly blended into the environment.
Wedding and Reception
With a color scheme of red and blue with a dash of gold, the church Wedding looked sophisticated yet festive. The highlight however, was the live violinist who on Joel’s special request, serenaded the couple on their first waltz as man and wife.
Advice For Couples
Erin shares, “There are so many variables involved in wedding planning, hence seeking perfection is not possible, no matter how much in advance you plan it. So just take a chill pill and enjoy the best day of your life to the fullest as it only comes once.”
