Florianne and Sarthak’s story began eight years ago, and finally found its happy ever after at a three-day bash at The Leela Ambience, Gurugam, with a series of opulent ceremonies and fun-filled occasions. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Evolve Weddings, this couple’s wedding was an experience of a lifetime; an elaborately planned celebration that went off without a hitch. Entertaining the couple and their guests was WeddingSutra Favorite – Ameya Dabli, with soulful chants that had the audience in a trance.
How They Met
The duo met a little over eight years ago while studying in the UK. They were inseparable for a year, after which Florianne had to go back to the Netherlands to finish her law degree. During the next seven years they traveled back and forth to see each other. Today, they’re thrilled to be beginning an exciting new chapter in their lives together.
Wedding Venue
The Leela Ambience, Gurugram made the perfect venue to host the couple’s nuptials. With its impeccable hospitality, sprawling grounds and its array of services, the property suited the duo’s plans which included a 24/7 recreational area for the guests to enjoy. Additionally, 24/7 snack stations, UNO, foosball, jenga, and a massage chair were also added to the list of facilities the guests could avail to relax in between the madness.
Wedding Planning
Planned by Evolve Weddings, the wedding went ahead without a glitch. The couple shares, “We had an amazing experience with Evolve Weddings. They were extremely tuned in to what we needed and were there every step of the way. I think we made a great choice as no one could’ve done better.”
Ameya Dabli’s music made for an engaging soundtrack as the couple took their vows for life. Additionally, there were performances by Funky Boyz, Unplugged Band Peprico, Shillong Chambers, Magician Shankar Bakshi, Mansheel Gujral, Mika Singh and DJ Ajay Nautiyal.
Making sure the bride looked good in every photo clicked was makeup artist SP Eastland. Sonam Negi took care of the emceeing and Indo Fusion Cocktail Services made sure the guests were fully entertained with their skillful mixing.
Weddings Functions
Sangeet
With the theme ‘Neel Angan’ inspired by Jaipur’s architectural wonder, Chandra Mahal, the sangeet was a colorful affair that had everyone shaking a leg. A three-leveled amphitheater inside the Pearl Ballroom of The Leela Ambience created the perfect setting for all the guests to sit and savour sangeet performances. Everything had a customized touch to it, from the wall masking and cushion prints to the blue and white overlays. The couple’s excitement and joy was palpable as they danced with their families to the tunes of the Funky Boys. Florianne looked radiant in a beige embroidered lehenga with pastel peach and blue accents. Sarthak was in sync with the theme in his blue bandhgala that he accessorized with a pink pocket square.
Mehndi
The mehndi function was light and breezy with the theme ‘Tropical Urban Spree’. Held outdoors under the open sky, there was a colorful canopy and quirky floral elements contributing to the celebratory atmosphere. The couple made a grand entrance as their families welcomed them with colorful smoke bombs under the bright sunshine. The bride looked majestic in a red and gold salwar kurta while Sarthak kept it simple in a white and gold printed bandhgala.
Performances by Unplugged Band Peprico and Magician Shankar Bakshi ensured that everyone was entertained.
Haldi
A homely and close-knit affair, the haldi ceremony was peppered with tender moments between the bride and her parents as they smeared each other with tumeric paste. Dressed in all-yellow with floral jewelry, Florianne looked radiant, while Sarthak was full of glee as he was doused in turmeric.
Cocktail Party
A glitzy function with the theme ‘Color Me Wild’, this cocktail party had the ‘wow’ factor. From a 13-foot mirror jackal centerpiece to power-packed performances by Mika Singh, Mansheel Gujral, DJ Ajay Nautiyal and Magician Shankar Bakshi, the event pulled out all the stops when it came to entertainment and glamor.
Everyone got into the groove on the dance floor as champagne flowed freely and flashing lights encouraged everyone to shake a leg. The bride and groom looked picture perfect in their outfits – Florianne in an embroidered white lehenga and Sarthak in his tuxedo.
Wedding
The wedding was held at the same ballroom that was used for the sangeet, however, the decor transformed the venue into a whole other world. Bordeaux velvet panels and Venetian mirrors reflected light beautifully. The stage where the couple took their vows had a rose flower bed and a laser-cut mirror peacock. Performances by Shillong Chambers and a soulful chant by Ameya Dabli, which was crafted specially for the bride and groom, during the pheras gave the wedding a thoroughly traditional feel.
Florianne chose to go the traditional route with red and gold embroidered lehenga, statement nath and maang tikka. Sarthak opted for white again and looked elegant in his bandhgala.
