From a romantic proposal at the breathtaking Laitlum Canyons in Shillong to their wedding, Harshika and Ronak’s celebrations featured cannons firing off rose petals, melodies and picture-perfect moments.
The lush lawns of the ITC Grand Bharat in Gurugram, Haryana, was lit with Harshika and Ronak’s wedding celebrations that were resplendent with floral elegance and vibrant hues curated and planned by WeddingSutra Favourite Perfexion Events.
How We Met
“It is surprising, but all cliched and romantic things happened to us when we least expected it! Ronak and I met in an arranged marriage setting and instantly hit it off from the first go! We spoke for hours together but needed time to think things through before committing to spending our lives together. However, in our hearts, we had connected deeply and knew that this could be it.”
Wedding Proposal
“After weeks of talking to each other, I went to meet him in Shillong, Meghalaya, and I had no idea what awaited me next. We went to Laitlum Canyons in Shillong also popularly known as ‘End of the World’ and were mesmerized by the picturesque views all around us. Ronak proposed to me at this very place and it was the best day of my life.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
“Our wedding celebrations started with a Welcome Dinner on the first night. We were entertained by a Tanura act, some Retro and Dance acts, and a brilliant performance by Bollywood Playback Singer Sapna Mukherjee before dinner. The gorgeous venue was set up and we chose to go with a decor theme which not only gave it a very beautiful setting but also added a touch of elegant exuberance to the proceedings. Colored Moroccan lamps were placed on each table, and impressive floral arrangements lit up the entrance to the dining venue.” While Harshika wore a gorgeous crimson ensemble pairing it with statement earrings, Ronak looked every bit of a dapper groom in his Grey suit from Canali.
Mehndi and Ring Ceremony
“The mehndi ceremony was held on the next day, and we were entertained by our friends and family dancing relentlessly with so much energy and so much color. The function was held outdoors on the lawns of the hotel, and featured bright and beautiful decor in the form of garlands, draped canopies, colorful cushions and a ‘Love’ sign created with orange marigold blooms.” Playback Singer Deepali Sathe and Supriya Joshi performed at the ceremony followed by a Rajasthani Ger performance and India’s leading professional dance troupe Dance Smith performance based on a Vivah concept. For Mehndi, Harshika and Ronak coordinated their Alok and Harsh outfits that matched perfectly with the colorful decor.
“After a little break and a chance to rest and change we had come down to an incredible setup created just for us for a grand ring ceremony followed by a musical night by singer Rahul Vaidya. The ring ceremony was also held outdoors in the evening and the floral arrangements were outstanding.” For this function, Harshika wore a royal blue outfit by Alok and Harsh and accessorized it with diamond jewellery while Ronak wore a suit by Tom Ford. Harshika’s makeup accentuated her beautiful features and she looked every bit of a gorgeous bride with her handsome groom.
Wedding
“We organized a friendly cricket match for our guest’s entertainment before the wedding ceremony. There were two teams, the bride’s side, and the groom’s side. It was just what we needed to kick-start a fun-filled day! The wedding ceremony was unique and included everything we had dreamt of and more. The flowers, decoration, props and outdoor lighting were stunning. The day started with a ‘haldi’ (turmeric application) ceremony, followed by a fun carnival with food, music, and dancing. Then we changed into our wedding outfits and Ronak headed for his ‘baarat’ (groom’s procession) accompanied by the dhol (ethnic drum) players. Eventually, he met me for the garlanding ceremony where we were welcomed by an amazing performance of the Russian Symphony band and canons firing rose petals as we exchanged garlands followed by the pheras on a specially made stage. The whole wedding was planned meticulously by the team at Perfexion Events. I wore the quintessential red lehenga with gold floral intricate embroidery by Sabyasachi and paired it with bespoke jewellery.”
