Hetavi Shah and Harshil Badani, Le Méridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa
This couple’s sunflower-laden haldi event is bookmark-worthy with its bohemian and desi beauty.
Hetavi Shah and Harshil Badani’s hill station wedding was a close-knit one where the couple savoured each moment in the lap of nature. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ella Events and Weddings, the union reflected the couple’s love for minimalism and a variety of blooms. Photographing the couple at their finest was WeddingSutra Favorite – Raabta Studios who was with the couple at every step of the way as they celebrated their union with their loved ones in tow.
Wedding Planning
Mavis Fernandes from Ella Weddings and Events shares, “The couple was clear that they wanted an intimate wedding and also a venue that was at a drivable distance from Mumbai. They were keen on making it relaxing and fun for their guests, so we decided on having only three events to give guests enough free time. Hetvi, particularly, wanted the celebrations to be minimal but personalised. Following her vision, we included shawls as favours so guests could stay warm during the cold evening! The bamboo room hampers were also incredibly personalised and hand painted. Overall, everything turned out exactly as planned and was in sync with the couple’s vision.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
With a bohemian vibe and decorated with cheery sunflowers, the haldi was whimsical yet earthy. Dreamcatchers, earthen pots, lilies, elaborate can chairs and a bridal seating backdrop populated with sunflowers made the venue look stunning surrounded by lush greenery.
Sangeet and After Party
The sangeet followed a ‘Sufi’ theme and stayed true to it with vintage lanterns, delicate floral setups, mystical blue lights and silver vases. As the guests lounged on the comfy sofas set up for them, they enjoyed an energetic performance by a live band. As the night progressed, the sangeet transitioned into an after-party where everyone had a gala time on the dancefloor with a DJ playing chartbusters and in the ball pit where they posed for endless selfies!
Wedding
Mavis shares, “For the wedding, the couple decided on pastel colours but wanted it to be minimal in a way that blended with the venue. To achieve this we decided on constructing an open mandap under the massive tree at the venue. Garlands of pink and white blooms were suspended from the branches of the tree while the long wooden dinner tables had candles and similar blooms as centerpieces. Additionally, hints of gold added a touch of glam to the entire setup.”
