Himani and Rohit, Thailand

A chance meeting at a club prompted Himani and Rohit’s love story, which over time kept growing stronger. And as fate would have it, this duo embarked on a journey for a lifetime by the scenic shores of Thailand, a destination that has steadily become a favorite amongst couples. Planning their breathtaking wedding with absolute expertise was WeddingSutra Favorite – Urbana Weddings and Events who used their superior skills to pull off a series of fun-filled ceremonies.

How They Met
Rohit shares, “Himani and I had a chance meeting at a club when we were partying one night. One of my friends spotted Himani and told me about this cute girl who was standing right behind me. My friends urged me to approach her, but I was a bit shy to do so. So, one of my friends, Nupur, went ahead and started talking to Himani. In no time, Himani joined our group and we spent the night talking to each other and dancing. At the end of it, numbers were exchanged and then, as they say, the rest is history!”

Wedding Venue
Hosted at Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand their nuptials took place right next to the scenic Thai shoreline. This gorgeous tropical property served as the perfect place for the couple and their respective families to enjoy the bounties of nature without compromising on luxury.

Wedding Planning
With wedding planner Urbana Wedding and Events minding the helm, everything went on smoothly for the duo as they celebrated their love with ceremonies filled with joy, laughter, dance, and friendly banter. Not to mention Thailand’s warm hospitality and picturesque beauty that made the wedding even sweeter and memorable. Rohit shares, “We just wanted people to be happy at the wedding and have a great time. Urbana Events and Weddings did a fantastic job and made the journey so easy. Working with them was a smooth process whereby they clearly comprehended our vision, enhanced it some more, and brought it to life.”

Makeup by Sunaina and hairstylist Sujaree Buranat were also a part of the stellar team who used their exceptional skills to make sure that Himani looked stunning in every shot. Ensuring that every picture was expressive and captured the spirit of the duo’s wedding was Greg’s Video who showed off their skill behind the lens.

Weddings Functions

Welcome Dinner and Pool Party
Held by the azure pool under the glaring sun, the pool party was a laid-back occasion that allowed guests to break the ice as they enjoyed small talk over drinks. Ensuring that the guests were thoroughly entertained, there was Beer Pong to keep them amused. With an exotic floral arch and pink flamingos, the striking entrance to the party had a tropical vibe.

Both the bride and groom chose pastel hues for their attire. Himani donned an off-white embroidered lehenga with a pastel pink dupatta which she accessorized with pink floral jewelry. Rohit opted for a baby blue floral bandhgala with a white pocket square.

Ganpati Pooja
A solemn affair where the couple prayed together with their family, the decor for the occasion was extremely simple with a floral arch behind the deity. Striking the perfect balance with her contemporary yet desi style, Himani donned a pink one-shoulder jumpsuit with gota patti work. However, Rohit took a more traditional route with his yellow bandhgala.

Ghari Pooja
Celebrated separately for the bride and groom, the Ghari Pooja was an intimate and fun-filled affair where the entire family came together to shower blessings on Himani and Rohit while smearing them with haldi.

For Himani, this function also included her chooda ceremony where she was prepped for her big day by the female family members and her girl squad. Dressed in a simple yellow saree, she had plenty of fun with the kids and smiled playfully with her friends.

On a more boisterous note, Rohit’s Ghari Pooja was attended by his closest family members and was full of lively shenanigans. All thanks to his friends, who made sure to smear him completely with haldi. For the pooja, the mood was more sober, and Rohit chose to wear a bright turquoise kurta as he prayed with his parents by his side.

Sangeet
Driving up the glamor quotient, the Sangeet was a dazzling ceremony where everyone turned up in their best evening attire. The decor embodied soft glam with its delicate golden arches, LED candles, a well-lit ‘Love’ sign decorated with blooms, and a grand stage where everyone shook a leg to their favorite tracks.

Dazzling in a white, gold, and peach lehenga, Himani looked picture perfect as she joined Rohit, who looked every bit royal in a rich blue sherwani with a printed shawl on stage.

Wedding
Held during dusk just as the sun gently dipped into the horizon, Himani and Rohit’s big day was held under the twilight sky which contrasted wonderfully with the delicate pink and white decor. The highlight of the occasion, however, was the mandap that overlooked the crashing waves and was replete with elegant flowers paired with a vintage chandelier that duly cast its golden glow over the couple.

Looking gorgeous in a coral-red lehenga with intricate embroidery, the bride made a graceful entry towards Rohit, who waited for her looking stylish in his gold sherwani.

Reception
Ending the celebrations on a high note, the reception had elaborate floral decor and was filled with good cheer as guests toasted to the newlyweds. Adding a dash of entertainment to the evening were professional dancers who swayed gracefully and belted out one exhilarating performance after the other.

Dressed in an off-white and gold embroidered gown, the bride radiated happiness as she sat next to her husband who wore a blue three-piece suit for the occasion.
