Jaini and Vyom, InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort
It took a second meeting for this couple to realize they were already in love.
Sometimes, it takes a while for sparks to fly between two people who have known each other forever. Jaini and Vyom, were school friends who met at a social gathering later in life, which was when they realized that what they had was special. The duo recently tied the knot at the beautiful property of InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort where WeddingSutra Favorite – Laksh Events orchestrated their wedding with impeccable design planning and precision.
How They Met
Vyom is from an entrepreneurial family business background, and also has a deep passion for Indian classical singing. He recalls, “Even though we went to the same school and the same tuition, love came our way much later in life when our paths crossed again at a social gathering. Something that day made us realize that what we shared was extraordinary. That meeting brought us closer and through constant messages on WhatsApp coupled with endless dates, things got in place, and we decided to be ‘ONE’.”
Wedding Venue
Vyom travels a lot, and incidentally, he had visited Mahabalipuram with his family. He tells us, “India’s Southern part is known for its culture, beautiful beaches and ancient temples. But there was something special about this historic city of Mahabalipuram. A dream wedding taking place there would be perfect. So, we picked Intercontinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort and Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa for our wedding functions.”
Wedding Planning
“The wedding planning kicked off with a lot of exciting ideas, and then we came across Laksh Events.” Narrates Jaini. “Their team is an enthusiastic bunch of people who managed our dream-wedding perfectly. Vyom and I have been born and brought up in Gujarat. And having a wedding in the South was not just a tough task but a tedious job. Despite that, the entire wedding went smoothly, and all the credit goes to their team, especially Nirmam Jhaveri, who meticulously took care of the smallest details to perfection.”
Wedding Functions
Pre-Wedding Function
Their pre-wedding function was by the beach, where the couple went all out with colorful decor. They had a graffiti wall that read ‘Yes’ in a bold font which served as the perfect backdrop at the venue, while the entrance was covered with fresh, colorful blooms. Jaini looked resplendent in an all-white outfit with embroidery work while the dashing groom kept it casual in a blue printed jacket with a white shirt, pants and sneakers.
Engagement
Their engagement was a grand affair where the entire venue was lit up with fairy lights. The spotlight was on the to-be newlyweds who wore a blue gown with feather detailing and an animal print tuxedo respectively. The bride took to the mic and sang a beautiful dedication for her love. Later, the families set the stage on fire with their fantastic dance moves.
Haldi
Their haldi was by the pool, where their friends and family took turns to smear the bride and groom in thick yellow turmeric paste.
The Wedding
The entire venue was decorated with beautiful red roses. For the couple’s seating, there was a beautiful set-up in the middle of the hotel, which was surrounded by water. The mandap was set up near the beachside where the couple took their wedding vows at the golden hour. The bride took the traditional route by opting for a gorgeous red lehenga, and the groom complimented her outfit by wearing a beige sherwani with a red stole and safa, and together, they made a dashing couple.
