Karishma Abichandani and Rohit Tilani, Taj Swarna, Amritsar
From breezy boho festivities to Chinese sky lanterns and evil eye-themed decor, witness the myriad moods of #TheKaTilWedding come alive!
Digital Marketing professional, Karishma Abichandani and Risk Manager, Rohit Tilani’s magical destination wedding was a celebration of their journey of love. WeddingSutra Favorite – The Vow Weavers wove a tapestry of emotions, entertainment, and charming personal details for an affair that stayed true to the couple- their tastes and their personalities.
How they met
Karishma shares, “Rohit and I first met at the beach when he tagged along with a mutual friend for a sunset stroll. Our paths crossed again at Starbucks, where I sought his advice on investing, and we just clicked. What started as a professional conversation evolved into something more profound. Rohit became my confidant, my sounding board, and eventually, my best friend. The pandemic brought unexpected challenges, but amidst the uncertainty, I discovered that Rohit embodied every quality I had envisioned in my future life partner.”
She continues, “When we decided to tie the knot, our wedding wasn’t the magical end to a fairy tale, it was a testament to our resilience and genuine connection. Rohit’s unwavering support and the effort he consistently invests in us spoke volumes. He is more than a partner; he is the person who notices the small details—the new earrings, the nail paint, or a hint of stress in my voice. It’s these seemingly mundane yet profoundly meaningful gestures that make our relationship authentic.”
“Our journey isn’t defined by grand gestures but by the countless everyday moments where Rohit has proven to be my anchor, whether it’s embracing me during tough times or making sure I have my morning coffee. As we set out to navigate the complexities of marriage, I am grateful for the solid foundation we’ve built—one that rests on friendship, mutual respect, and the willingness to weather life’s storms together.”
Wedding Planning
The wedding celebrations were hosted at the charming Taj Swarna Amritsar, where the cold and lovely weather provided a perfect escape from the heat of Dubai and Mumbai. The wedding also coincided with Guru Nanak Jayanti, which made it all the more auspicious and memorable.
Their wedding, an intimate affair that still embraced the grandeur of a big fat Sindhi celebration, was a product of a year-long planning process. From personalizing each event to paying meticulous attention to decor details and curating a menu filled with unforgettable delicacies, they invested time and effort into ensuring every aspect reflected their vision. It was a labor of love that brought together meaningful moments, warm hearts, and the joy of beginning their journey as a married couple.
The couple carefully selected vendors who shared their values and embarked on the wedding planning journey with The Vow Weavers. They share, “From the initial stages of conceptualization to the execution of our dream celebration, The Vow Weavers proved to be nothing short of phenomenal. Their personalized and attentive approach made us feel like a top priority, and their unwavering dedication to bringing our vision to life was truly commendable. They curated a celebration that was not only visually stunning but also deeply resonant with our personalities and preferences. Meticulously attending to every detail, they ensured that each element contributed to the overall magic of our special day. Their adaptability, responsiveness, and creative flair turned potential stressors into moments of ease and joy.”
They continue, “What sets The Vow Weavers apart is their ability to seamlessly blend professionalism with warmth, making the entire planning process not just efficient but also enjoyable. Their team felt like an extension of our support system, always ready to tackle challenges with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. Their hands-on involvement, patience in addressing our queries, and proactive problem-solving demonstrated a level of commitment that went far beyond the typical vendor-client relationship. Choosing The Vow Weavers was undeniably one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. For couples seeking a team that not only understands the intricacies of wedding planning but also invests heart and soul into the process, The Vow Weavers stands out as the epitome of excellence. We wholeheartedly recommend them for their professionalism, creativity, and the genuine friendships they form along the way.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The Mehndi marked an intimate beginning of the wedding celebrations, with close friends and family joining in to kickstart the festivities. The decor theme, “Miracle Garden”, showcased shades of orange, a nod to the bride’s name, Karishma. The event featured cute garden spaces with cabanas where guests applied mehendi and enjoyed lunch.
Welcome Dinner
The Welcome Dinner was a boho-chic affair that set the tone for a beautiful celebration under the stars, teeming with special moments that started right after the magical entry of the couple amid sparklers. Driving all the way from Himachal Pradesh, the lovely band filled the evening with melodious music and the guests enjoyed a night filled with singing and dancing. The occasion ended with the couple lighting and releasing a Chinese sky lantern.
Brunch
The next day began with a breezy brunch soiree with “evil eye” themed decor that reflected their shared belief in their significance, and 10 live stations curated with love by the bride to offer a unique culinary experience. Emcee Aayush and DJ Nitesh kept the atmosphere lively with games and Bollywood tunes. For some much-needed relaxation, a foot massage station was a hit with their guests, and the event concluded with a cozy flower shower haldi.
Sangeet
Aptly named “KaRo got Lit”, the Sangeet night lived up to its theme! The bride and groom’s entrance with a flash mob set the stage for a night of dance and celebration against a backdrop of edgy, glamorous decor. Their friends and family participated in a skit, with Karishma and Rohit’s respective best friends portraying them. Choreographed performances, emotional videos, and a ring ceremony added to the overwhelming love and joy of the night.
Morning Rituals
The morning of the wedding kicked off with a mix of fun, laughter, and emotions as the groom and bride prepared for the big day. The groom, amidst his morning rituals, found himself in good spirits, although his clothes faced an unexpected fate – torn by the playful antics of his friends. The lighthearted moments continued as the bride’s pooja followed, where her chooda was delicately put on. The two were filled with anticipation and excitement, gearing up for one of the most memorable days of their lives.
Wedding
On the auspicious day of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the rain added a touch of magic to the outdoor ceremony, and the regal wedding unfolded like a Bollywood movie. The groom danced in with his crew, eagerly anticipating the bride’s grand entrance, who walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with her father, surprising him as they did with a heartfelt quote on the walkway. As he teared up, the groom was just as moved, watching his beautiful bride enter. Karishma shares, “In that emotional moment, we both could only think – we made it. Despite everything, we made it, and this journey was just the beginning of our beautiful forever.”
After Party
Skipping out on a formal Reception, the couple opted instead for an after-party, where everyone could dress down and have a night of fun and dance. While guest attire ranged from evening chic to sneakers, the groom donned a custom jacket with the words “Munda Sona” on the back, which was specially curated by Karishma. He, in turn, surprised the bride, as he unzipped the jacket to reveal her face on his t-shirt.
The ballroom came alive with the vibrant tunes of percussionist Walter Scalzone and DJ Nitesh, who spun a mix of Karishma’s favorite indo-western beats. Their loved ones danced the night away, creating an electric atmosphere that perfectly captured the essence of their unique celebration. The three days of festivities were a blend of love, laughter, and the creation of timeless memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the couple and their families.
Advice for couples
Karishma shares “Begin your wedding planning well in advance to avoid last-minute stress. Being selective with your guest list will also ensure a more intimate and meaningful celebration. Identify the key elements that are most important to both of you, be it the venue, photography, entertainment, and more, and prioritize your spending and efforts accordingly. Don’t forget to infuse your personalities into the wedding details to make the event truly memorable. And most importantly, keep open and honest communication to discuss your expectations, preferences, and compromises early in the planning process.”
She adds, “Wedding planning can be overwhelming, so don’t forget to take care of yourselves. Get enough rest, eat well, and engage in activities that help you relax and stay grounded. Delegate tasks to friends and family, and take breaks to spend quality time with your partner without discussing wedding details. Remember, your wedding day is a celebration of your love, and the planning process should reflect that joy. Enjoy the journey and create memories that will last a lifetime.”
