Khushi Gulati and Pulkit Mathur, The Westin Goa
Exuding modern grandeur with a traditional spirit, this Goa wedding was a carnival of colors.
Celebrating their love with the “Band, Baaja, Baraat” of the quintessential Indian wedding, Khushi Gulati and Pulkit Mathur’s festivities were conceptualized, planned, and executed to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shreem Events. Watch them unfold below.
Wedding Planning
Hosting their festivities on the verdant property of The Westin Goa, the couple envisioned an intimate celebration with a modern aesthetic and a traditional soul. They entrusted the team of Shreem Events to conceptualize, plan, and execute the wedding, who imbibed the celebrations with fresh decor ideas, personal touches, riveting entertainment, and memorable experiences for the couple and their guests.
Mehndi
After a charming Goan-style welcome with local dancers and singers, the guests were treated to a lively mehndi and welcome lunch which set the tone for the entire celebration. Inspired by the tropical seaside location, the decor was imagined in an oceanic color palette of blue and white, with pops of yellow for a sunny twist. The poolside soiree was elevated with cabanas, favor stalls for hats, sunglasses, jewelry, etc, and delectable live food counters for kebabs, chaat, and more that were brought all the way from Delhi. The guests relaxed and got their hands painted with henna as they enjoyed the musical stylings of DJ Rohit.
Sangeet
The couple and their guests geared up for a night of entertainment and glamor with the Sangeet soiree. The glitzy decor of black and gold set a formal ‘evening cocktail’ vibe with an edgy twist, completed with elegant white furniture, candles, chandeliers, and white blooms. The renowned team of ‘The Wedding Bartenders‘ served up the best of cocktails as the guests enjoyed family performances and rousing music by DJ Ganesh.
Haldi
Held separately for the bride and groom, the haldi function saw traditional yellow decor and warm family moments. Thoughtful wedding favors like bangles, rings, scrunchies, etc made the occasion all the more special as their friends and family gathered around them to perform the rituals. The bride’s haldi was also accompanied by the chooda ceremony which garnered a ton of cheerful moments.
The tradition of the occasion was followed by the fun of a joint flower shower where the couple was seated on a beautiful decked swing and doused with flower petals. It was a memorable start to the wedding day.
Wedding
In keeping with custom, the wedding saw a safa-tying ceremony and a rousing baraat complete with a classic brass band and fireworks, followed by the beautiful varmala ceremony and a reception dinner for guests. The hotel’s banquet space was transformed into an enchanted forest with an abundance of flowers, foliage, and romantic lighting. Dressed in quintessential bridal red, the bride took everyone’s breath away as she entered with her father, floating through the mist.
Attended only by close family, the phera ceremony was an intimate yet unforgettable experience with sitar music and lush outdoor ambiance under the starry night sky.
