When a bride’s wish brought an enchanted forest to the heart of Delhi.
Some weddings begin with a color palette. The wedding of Khyati Goel and Chinay Sagrawat began with a longing for nature, quiet beauty and some sprinkles of magic. Planned, designed and executed by by WeddingSutra Favorite – Foreign Wedding Planners, this July wedding transformed the Glasshouse Terrace at The Leela Palace Chanakyapuri into an enchanted forest, where every corner felt as though it had been discovered deep within a magical woodland.
Wedding Planning
Nehaa Mehrotra Suri of Foreign Wedding Planners shares, “When the bride was asked what inspired her, she spoke of forests, fountains, nature and the serenity of the outdoors. That became the foundation of the entire design narrative. The wedding took place in July, during the peak of the monsoon. Rather than treating the season as a limitation, we embraced it completely. The vision was ambitious—to transform the glasshouse into a dreamscape of forests, fountains, foliage, and fantasy.” The unconventional décor was brought alive by the props and décor by FWP Rentals.

The Wedding
Every detail of the wedding was carefully curated to match the bride’s vision of a forest experience. The entrance view-cutter was designed as a photo-op experience, allowing guests to slowly step into a world of wonder. A pomegranate tree, an illusional pond with moss-covered chairs and natural stones, cascading greenery, blush florals, textured foliage, intertwining branches and fountain-inspired installations created a layered journey into the “gates of a magical forest”.
At the heart of the celebration stood the mandap, wrapped in cascading foliage and layered with lush green hangings, crystals, moss, delicate florals, dragonfly props and perfect shades of sage, olive and forest greens. A dramatic zig-zag aisle pathway led guests towards the ceremony, creating the feeling of walking through a hidden forest trail.
A whimsical deer lounge became one of the most captivating corners of the celebration, while sculptural installations of moss, foliage, apple trees, illusional ponds and woodland elements added depth, movement and dimension to the space. Cascading drapery and layered textures gave the illusion of flowing water.
The dining experience was equally unconventional. Serpentine tables, dressed in rich forest greens, flowed through the venue like winding woodland paths, creating a whimsical and immersive atmosphere. Glass tables with pergolas above, layered with florals and grape vines, added a sense of intimacy and drama.
What made this wedding truly special was that it didn’t follow trends. It followed the bride’s imagination.
