Krupa and Rahul, Goa
Surrounded by the lush beauty of Goa, this couple’s wedding mandap was a feast for the eyes with its pink, peach, and gold color palette.
Krupa and Rahul had always dreamed about tying the knot by a beach. And, when it came to choosing a destination, they chose Goa where they happily got married amidst their loved ones. With WeddingSutra Favorite – Exotic Goa executing the decor, this wedding pleased the senses with every event and ensured that the duo’s vision was brought to life flawlessly.
How They Met
Recalling how their relationship progressed, Krupa shares, “We were both in the same college where we pursued an MBBS degree, and soon, friendship blossomed between us. And even though, we weren’t very close, we both knew each other’s personalities well. So when we were set up to meet for an arranged marriage, we clicked instantly!”
The Proposal
Krupa shares, “I did propose to him on his birthday and took him completely by surprise! I’d always wanted to make his birthday special and in order to pop the question, I created a special video for him.”
Wedding Planning
Acknowledging the challenging task of orchestrating a destination wedding, the couple decided to rope in expert vendors who’d execute their vision. On the decor front, they chose Exotic Goa and were thrilled with the results. Krupa gushed, “My experience with Exotic Goa was absolutely wonderful! They were extremely detail-oriented and were there with me throughout the process 24/7. Their understanding of our vision was perfect and I am extremely happy with the way everything turned out!”
Adding to the team were makeup artists Vaishnavi, photographers Stories Forever, and F5 Weddings.
Weddings Functions
Mehendi
For the Mehendi, the couple chose a simple yet colorful decor adorned with vivid blooms. Surrounded by their loved ones, the duo’s mehendi functions were held separately where they both individually celebrated with their families and conducted rituals to give their wedding an auspicious start.
Engagement
In order to surprise her groom, Krupa chose to give the engagement function a football-based theme which featured FC Barcelona, Rahul’s favorite football team. With posters of the team on the walls and minimalistic golden lights, the engagement was an intimate affair where the duo celebrated with their friends.
Haldi
For the Haldi, the duo chose bright decor that included cabanas and floral swings. The bride shares, “We made our entry with bubbles floating around us and made sure that everyone had a good time on the dance floor. A caricature artist was also present to entertain the guests. All in all, it was a boisterous celebration where everyone slathered us with Haldi playfully.”
Wedding
“Our big day was absolutely dreamy and emotional and was executed exactly the way I had imagined it. It was held by the beach and as the salty air blew all around us and the waves crashed, we tied the knot surrounded by the blessings of our loved ones.”, shares Krupa. Following a pink, gold, and peach color palette, the mandap had fantastic views of the shoreline which enhanced the beauty of the wedding. After tying the knot, the couple proceeded to have a formal western style sit down dinner where their loved ones toasted to the newlyweds.
Reception
“For the reception, we went traditional and had a glamorous night of celebration. Replete with music and a delicious spread that had everyone reaching for second helpings, this function was an absolute hit amongst the guests as they indulged themselves completely.”, shares the happy bride.
Olympic Game Session
“The morning before the Sangeet we hosted a special Olympic games session where everyone unleashed their inner child all thanks to the variety of games we equipped the venue with. From games like human foosball, ‘where’s the tail?’ to carrom, each activity was essentially a team-based game to encourage interaction between the guests.”, shares Krupa.
Sangeet
“We had our Sangeet after the wedding and all of us were quite relieved that it was planned so because everyone is generally tired after the Sangeet. It was a glamorous occasion where everyone freely partied their hearts out to the wee hours of the night.”, shares the bride.
Pajama Party
‘Post the Sangeet, we wanted everyone to relax and wear something comfy after the rigors of back-to-back celebrations. Hence, we conceptualized the pajama party where everyone just chilled out throughout the night. We also had a DJ night afterward to keep everyone in high spirits.”
Advice for Couples
“I planned my wedding to every last detail and ensured that all my vendors understood my vision exactly. But one thing that I’d advise all the brides would be to let somebody else take over the responsibility one week before the wedding. Don’t go into too many details when it comes to the execution because then you will not be able to enjoy yourself. Also, as a couple, we made sure to never keep our guests waiting and started every function on time.”
