Glamorous yet serene, this couple’s wedding inspired awe with its heartwarming moments.
Hosted amidst lush natural beauty and punctuated by vivacious moments, Mallika Joshi, an investment banker, and Gokul Narang, a businessman’s union hit all the right notes with its exquisite beauty. Photographed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Artistick Photography, this Punjabi wedding was a rich fusion of color, joy and love.
How They Met
Mallika shares, “We first crossed paths at a school carnival 11 years ago all thanks to a mutual friend. For me, it was love at first sight although Gokul did take his own sweet time! However, we grew to be friends and over the years, we’ve had our ups and downs but we always had faith in each other.”
Wedding Planning
For a to-be-wed couple, the right photographer can make a world of difference and it was no different for Mallika and Gokul who were gearing up for their November wedding. An impressed Mallika shares, “Getting the team of Artistick Photography on board was one of the first and best decisions we made while planning the wedding. They were highly invested in our wedding and made us feel that our big day was just as important to them as it was for us. We formed an emotional connect with our story which is clearly reflected in the pictures. They had candid conversations with us which made us laugh and cry, they even danced with us till they couldn’t dance anymore but most importantly, they captured moments that will define our happiness for eternity.”
Wedding Functions
Engagement and Sagan
Mallika shares, “Sagan was dedicated to dance, drinks and revelry! Black, white and green hues dominated the decor. Additionally, we also encouraged everyone to drink to the fullest, dance the night away and enjoy themselves to the hilt.”
Mehndi
For the Mehndi, the bride chose the comfort of her home as she got henna patterned on her arms and legs amidst family and close friends.
Haldi
Mallika shares, “Our Haldi event was an emotional affair as everyone gave us so much love! The theme was ‘All Yellow’ and flowers were peppered around the venue in abundance. We had such a great time with our loved ones as each person was at their playful best.”
Wedding
The bride recollects, “The wedding was a Sikh Anand Karaj ceremony. It was a pious occasion full of love and positivity. Since it was a morning event, it was swathed in pastel hues. While the first half of the wedding was soulful, the second was a blast as everyone gathered on the dancefloor to celebrate!”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Try and stay as calm as you can because planning a wedding is like walking into a storm. Understand your partner, their wishes and their likings to plan a wedding successfully. At the end of the day, it is your wedding, and it is essential for your story to reflect in every element and moment of your celebrations.”
