This Louvre-inspired wedding mandap expressed the couple’s love for contemporary architecture while paying homage to traditions.
Mamta Nahar and Rahul Bagrecha, an entrepreneur’s wedding was the perfect blend of new-age glamour and traditional grandeur. Planned and designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dream Capture Events, the union brimmed with unique, larger-than-life themes.
Wedding Planning
Mishal Sanklecha from Dream Capture Events shares, “The couple was keen on classic and minimalistic decor elements. The groom, especially, was very particular about the flowers, insisting that no fake flowers were to be used in the setups. Both of them had a soft spot for the Louvre in France and wanted their mandap to be inspired by it. Even for their entries, they kept it simple. For everything else, they completely trusted us and allowed us to be creatively free.”
Impressed by the planning and design team’s understanding of their vision, bride Mamta shares, “Everything was perfect! Each event was just as we’d envisioned it to be. The team was always on their toes and were incredibly helpful in making the entire experience stress-free for us.” Rahul, the groom goes on to add, “From the very first meeting, the team was on point. Dream Capture Events have an incredible eye for detail which makes every event special. Their dedication, hard work and support led us to enjoy our big day fully!”
Wedding Functions
Pool Party
Following a tropical design theme with plenty of colorful tropic leaves and life-size flamingos, the pool party was a sunkissed celebration where the couple had a gala time with their loved ones. Cooling drinks and comfy seating spaces were in plenty as the guests grooved to energetic beats.
Haldi
Eschewing the usual marigold-filled haldi designs, the couple opted for a refreshing citric theme which reminded the guests of laidback European summers. Mishal shares, “The lemon and capri-themed event was a vibrant and refreshing concept that combines the rich, golden hues of haldi with the zesty freshness of lemons and the relaxed, coastal vibes of Capri. The fusion of these elements created an atmosphere of joy, positivity, and relaxation. The sunny yellow and aqua blue color palette, coupled with citrusy decor and Mediterranean-inspired details, infused a sense of warmth and exuberance to the boisterous haldi celebrations.”
Sangeet
Mishal shares, “The tropical sangeet amidst the lush greenery, swaying palm trees, and vibrant blooms was a carefree celebration infused with the glitz of the disco ball. This theme combined the lively beats of a live DJ band with the spirit of a tropical paradise. Guests swayed to the rhythm of the music under the starry night sky, creating an atmosphere of fun and festivity. The blend of tropical cocktails, exotic cuisine, and upbeat tunes transported everyone to an island getaway, making the sangeet an exciting and memorable event for all.”
Wedding
Owing to the couple’s love for the iconic Louvre museum in France, the planning team designed a contemporary mandap inspired by it. Mishal shares, “The wedding mandap inspired by the Louvre Museum in Paris was something that was exclusively curated for the couple to express their love for artistic grandeur and timeless romance. The mandap, reminiscent of the Louvre’s iconic glass pyramid, was an architectural masterpiece in itself. Delicate, intricate designs and clean lines create a sense of elegance and sophistication. The transparent structure symbolized the transparency and purity of the couple’s union. Adorned with classic art pieces and romantic florals, this mandap provides a cultural and artistic backdrop for the wedding ceremony, where the couple embarked on their new journey together.”
Reception
After the contemporary grandeur of the wedding, the couple opted for a fuss-free reception. Mishal shares, “A simple reception decor with rose flowers exuded elegance and natural beauty. Delicate rose arrangements adorned the venue, creating a soft, romantic ambience. The simplicity of the decor allowed the natural charm of making the reception a warm and inviting space for guests to celebrate the couple’s special day.”
