Mandy and Arun, Ludhiana
In a heartwarming twist, the bride walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with her groom.
Based in Canada, college sweethearts Mandy and Arun celebrated their journey from being best friends to life partners with a wonderful poolside wedding in the bride’s hometown of Ludhiana. Their precious moments were immortalized by WeddingSutra Favorite – Red Veds. Here the bride shares a few glimpses from the festivities.
How They Met
The couple crossed paths as MBA students in the same university, meeting through common friends. Mandy reminisces, “When I met him for the first time, we barely interacted. We became friends a while later, when we started working on a class project together. Soon we became really close and eventually realized that our feelings for each other were a lot deeper than friendship.”
The Proposal
“I have always held a fascination for romantic movie proposals and dreamed of being proposed to in a spectacular way. Arun’s proposal surpassed anything I could have ever imagined and I will cherish it forever. What truly won me over was that he asked my parents’ permission before proposing to me, and sealed it with a beautiful rock on my finger,” says Mandy.
Wedding Planning
Mandy says, “My sister and I worked closely to plan and execute the whole wedding. I always dreamed of a poolside wedding and it was a joy to see that dream come true. Being in Canada, I couldn’t oversee the details and my sister incredibly shouldered every responsibility. From designing my post wedding clothes to customizing my wedding, reception and sangeet outfits, including jewellery, she turned my vision into reality.
“One of the aspects that was very important to me was photography, as it lets us capture and relive memories for a lifetime. After some research and meetings, my sister and husband chose Red Veds. They made the process fun and brought our vision to life. We couldn’t have chosen a better team.”
Wedding
The nuptial celebration was a breezy poolside affair with a romantic floral decor that exuded an air of relaxed elegance. Mandy glowed in her red lehenga, which she teamed with elaborate polki jewelry, custom designed by Jaipur Jewels. The groom looked regal in a white floral sherwani, which he teamed with an emerald green shawl and a multilayered necklace that perfectly matched the bride’s exquisite jewelry. The highlight of the day, however, was during the heart-warming bridal entry when, instead of walking alone, the bride chose to walk in hand-in-hand with her groom, the love of her life.
