Manisha and Varshith, Hyderabad
Held at the majestic Taj Falaknuma Palace, this couple’s South Indian monsoon wedding exuded romance and grandeur.
For Manisha Reddy and Varshith Reddy, a strong connection was forged from the first conversation itself. Soon after, as time flew by, the duo decided to seal the deal with a marriage in Hyderabad, a city close to their heart. Hosted at the luxurious and breathtaking Taj Falaknuma Palace, their Telugu wedding was a feast for the eyes with its elegant splendor that reflected their rich culture.
How They Met
Varshith recollects, “Our very first conversation on the phone lasted more than an hour and after just two or three calls we decided to meet in Florida where I had to fly down from New York. I wouldn’t necessarily call it ‘love at first sight’ but there was most definitely a sense of comfort as we knew so many things about each other already. After some time I flew down again to meet her but we still weren’t sure. Later, I was on a visit in Mumbai when the lockdown struck which meant we couldn’t meet each other in the USA for a couple of months. But as fate would have it, we reconnected after a few months, and it all started once again. Once things eased up a little, she flew down to India and since then, there has been no looking back as we tied the knot within weeks!”
Wedding Venue
When it came to choosing the venue the duo had their heart set on the plush Taj Falaknuma palace which is known for its opulent architecture and impeccable hospitality. Describing their thought process behind choosing the venue and their experience, the couple shares, “Like many, we had also always dreamed of getting married at the Taj Falaknuma Palace which is situated on a hillock right in the middle of Hyderabad. The stunning architecture, lush gardens, and stained glass windows amazed us from the first glance itself. For the wedding ceremony, we chose the Gol Bungalow, a semi outdoor place where one can gaze upon the city. Post that, we had the pleasure of dining on one of the largest dinner tables which is carved out of rosewood and lined with green leather. Our experience here was absolutely magical as we were treated like royals from the moment we stepped into the palace.”
Weddings Functions
Engagement
The groom shares, “We never had a formal proposal, so we planned to make the engagement day special by booking a place in Park Hyatt, Hyderabad. It was a meeting filled with socializing and banters as we met most of each other’s family members and revealed our marriage plans to our friends.”
Pellikuthuru & Pellikoduku
“Similar to the Haldi function held in North Indian weddings, the Pellikuthuru & Pellikoduku functions involve the bride and groom being prepped by the family for the big day. During this event, all of us had a lot of fun as the family came together to apply turmeric and oil on us. Held at our respective residences, it was a truly fun filled event as all our cousins playfully doused us with water.” shares Varshith.
Wedding
“Our wedding was extremely magical and we remember every minute of it so clearly! Hosted at the stunning Taj Falaknuma Palace, we almost felt like royalty as we entered the venue. We tied the knot before our loved ones amidst resounding Vedic chants. In the end, it even rained which we considered as an auspicious symbol for our union.” recollects Varshith.
Advice for Couples
The couple advises, “Always plan things ahead. This way you’ll be able to avoid a lot of chaos on your big day which will allow you to sit back and relax. Be happy and have all the fun you can, because days like these only come once!”
