Mayesha and Sheahan, Bali
This Bali wedding was all things bright and beautiful as it unfolded in a lovely venue with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean.
Their love story started with a video game, and Mayesha and Sheahan’s beautiful wedding in Bali was a winner when it comes to memorable moments, merrymaking and a magical ambiance. Capturing all the wonderful moments was WeddingSutra Favorite – Gautam Khullar Photography and his talented team.
How They Met
In September 2017, around the same night, Sheahan and Mayesha were in different parts of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was at a party chatting with his best friend Mehran who was telling Sheahan about a girl he wanted to marry. Sheahan replied that he too wished for a girl who would love him for himself, and not something superficial. That same night Mayesha was at home, saying her nightly prayers, where she prayed to find someone who would love her for the things that others didn’t understand, like the fact that she loved comic books and video games, and ran her own business. A week later, Mayesha met Sheahan through a common friend! He walked into Mayesha’s home and noticed her comic books and PlayStation. He asked, “Do you play FIFA?” She replied, “Yes!” Sheahan had once told his friends that the day he found a girl who could beat him in FIFA he would marry her. A year and a half later, he did just that.
Wedding Planning
For their destination wedding in Bali, the couple chose Vara Weddings to plan and execute the festivities, while candid moments of their special day was captured by Gautam Khullar Photography.
Wedding Functions
Gaye Holud/Haldi
The festivities kicked off with a ‘Gaye Holud’ or haldi festivities which commenced with a welcome lunch. The vibrant decor in tropical shades looked idyllic next to the ocean-facing location, and the gorgeous floral decorations included a green wall with festooned flowers and charming centerpieces. Live music added to the energy of the occasion, and the couple, wearing rose-colored outfits by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, made a grand entry dancing with their loved ones following them. The evening saw several performances by the couple and their family members.
After Party
The celebration was followed by an eclectic neon-themed after party. Besides the fun of rocking music and dance, the night included party games and a foam dance floor.
Wedding
The dawn brought with it the flurry of wedding preparations as the couple donned their black and white couture ensembles for their white wedding. The aisle was scattered with white flowers and lined by floral decorations in white, pink and blue, and so was the canopy. The bride wore glittering diamond jewellery from Hazoorilal Jewellers with her white bridal gown from Papilio Boutique.
Reception
The wedding was followed by the ocean-facing reception dinner. The long wooden dining tables were aglow with candles and overhead glow of white paper lanterns, and the outdoor space made for a charming backdrop with the setting sun. The evening was filled with heartwarming speeches, delectable food, and the clinking of glasses as everyone toasted to the happy couple.
