Megha Israni and Yash Bhatia, Mumbai
Ace wedding photographer Megha Israni and marketing professional Yash Bhatia tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Mumbai.
Megha Israni, Founder of Israni Photography tied the knot with Yash Bhatia, a marketer with one of India’s leading gourmet meat brands.
The duo has had an adventurous journey right from the beginning as they met the traditional way, found common ground, and were soon head over heels in love with each other. After months of waiting it out in the lockdown, they finally decided to take the plunge into marital bliss. Photographed by the bride’s own company, WeddingSutra Favorite – Israni Photography the celebrations saw the who’s who of the wedding industry, well-known fashionistas, and Mumbai society in attendance.
How They Met
Yash, who is based in Bengaluru, and Megha, from Mumbai, first crossed paths all thanks to their loved ones who played cupid. After endless conversations via calls and messages, the duo forged a strong bond. However, the turning point of their relationship was when Yash flew down to Mumbai to be with Megha. Within these five blissful days, both of them instinctively knew that they were meant for one another.
Wedding Planning
Megha is one of the most popular and well-networked persons in the wedding and celebrations industry in Mumbai, so it was natural that many of her planner and decorator friends wanted to be involved. Finally, Megha and Yash worked with decor/ design companies Aash Studio, The Finale – An Event Co, National Decorators, Makeup Artists Mausam Gandhi, Doll you up by S and Lekha Shah, and the ground celebrations were managed by The Event Soul.
Weddings Functions
Roka
Punctuated by the sound of foamy waves meeting the shore, Megha and Yash’s Roka ceremony was a feast for the eyes with its delicate pink-hued decor that contrasted beautifully with the earthy surroundings. Adorned with a dusty rose-pink floral arch and pampas grass the venue was perfectly in sync with the to-be bride and groom’s outfits as they happily mingled with the guests.
Mehndi
Hosted the very next day after her home-based mehndi, the second mehndi celebration took the glamor quotient several notches higher with its vibrant, quirky, and modern decor. Peppered with bright-hued seating arrangements, tropical foliage and a photo booth with a glowing LED sign in the backdrop, this event instantly put everyone in the mood to party. Dressed in a frilled hot pink and silver embroidered outfit, Megha resembled a princess while Yash looked dapper in an off-white bandhgala.
Haldi
Hosted during the golden hour, the duo’s haldi was a traditional affair swathed in hues of yellow and adorned with marigolds. Surrounded by family and friends who playfully slathered them with turmeric, this event witnessed everyone in a boisterous mood as they reveled under the shower of marigold petals. Dressed in a yellow lehenga and contrasting baby blue floral jewelry, Megha looked ethereal while Yash matched her in a yellow and white printed bandhgala.
Wedding
Surrounded by swaying palms and basking in the sunshine, Megha and Yash’s wedding was a blissful affair. Dressed in an off-white lehenga with intricate embroidery Megha looked picture perfect as she rambled on the lush lawns with her furry friend. However, the highlight of her outfit was her delicate, sheer dupatta which had #MyForever embroidered on it. Yash, on the other hand, looked dapper in a mint green and gold embroidered sherwani.
Sangeet and Cocktail
The Banquet Hall of Grand Hyatt was decked with glitzy elements for the post-wedding party. Almost every top wedding planner in Mumbai was present to bless the newlyweds. The highlight of course was a choreographed performance by 25 wedding planners who danced on stage to Bollywood numbers. Popular wedding anchor Gunjan Utreja, managed by WeddingSutra Favorite Talent Management Company, was the emcee for the evening, while DJ Alex got the guests grooving to signature tracks.
The teams at Grand Hyatt and The Wedding Bartenders were at their hospitable best while both families ensured all guests who included Disha Parmar and Rahul Vaidya, Resham Chhabria, Sonaakshi Raaj and Nikhil Merani, and Bhavna Jasra had a great time. While the main celebrations were at the expansive ballroom, the dinner was served at the adjoining courtyard. Instead of a huge buffet, the presentation was all about a large number of live stations with Indian and international foods and a choice of sumptuous desserts. What made the celebrations even more special was that the bride’s brother Luv Israni made sure that the newly weds went up to every guest to chat with and take lots of photographs with them.
The party ended on a special emotional note for it was a Grand reunion for Megha’s closest friends and well wishers from the wedding industry.
