Miloni and Nihar, Della Resorts, Lonavala
This wedding saw Miloni and Nihar's pet dog don a customized sherwani for the festivities that were held in a pet-friendly resort.
After a whirlwind romance across beautiful locations around the globe, Miloni and Nihar got married at Della Resorts, in Lonavala. The candid shots of the charming festivities were captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – KnotsbyAMP. Take a look at some highlights of the celebrations here.
How They Met
Nihar and Miloni met through her best friend. With Nihar living in Dallas, US, at the time and Miloni in Antwerp, Belgium, their love grew as they conversed online in the ensuing weeks. Miloni first met Nihar at Pearson International Airport, in Toronto. Miloni was attending a conference in the city, and Nihar decided to travel to see her. They spent a day together and enjoyed visiting the majestic Niagara Falls.
The Proposal
Miloni visited Dallas, where she was introduced to Nihar’s fur baby Rancho. After that, the couple decided to take things forward and informed their families about their feelings for each other. The couple got engaged in Antwerp, and after a short spell of living in London, they decided to tie the knot in India.
Wedding Venue
After attending a friend’s wedding at Della Resorts in Lonavala, Miloni envisioned her dream wedding at the beautiful sprawling venue, and her vision came true when both their families loved the property. Being a dog-friendly resort was just the cherry on top, as the couple’s adorable pup Rancho got to be a part of all their festivities.
Wedding Planning
Miloni and Nihar were extremely excited to plan the wedding and divided tasks between themselves. The planning and execution of the functions were entrusted to The Wedding Project while the decor was done by Bhoomi Events. The couple also took on several things completely such as designing the invites, the decor concepts of their wedding, planning the sangeet, and much more. They hired KnotsbyAMP to capture all the special moments of the celebrations. The couple shares, “We enjoyed working with KnotsbyAMP immensely. The team responded to requests in a timely and appropriate manner. It was important that our guests enjoy the functions uninterrupted, and they thoroughly respected that, while capturing the most genuine emotions in their pictures.”
Wedding Functions
Miloni and Nihar decided to tell their story chronologically through their wedding events. Each event was inspired by the cities they met and spent time in. The chapters for each of the five events were written and edited by the couple and published in a lifesize book that was erected at each event.
Welcome Lunch
The Toronto-themed welcome lunch set the mood for the upcoming events, and the decor incorporated cherry blossoms which are reminiscent of High Park Toronto in May. Miloni looked charming in a Payal Singhal outfit for this function.
Mehndi
The Mehndi ceremony celebrated the Texan culture of Dallas, and the setup included cactus plants, a Taco truck, and vintage Western Wanted pictures for photo ops. The bride wore a stunning lemon and pale blue lehenga with multicolored motifs that matched the color palette of the decor.
Sangeet
The diamond capital of the planet, Antwerp, was the perfect inspiration for the glitzy sangeet night with shimmering crystals, twinkling lights, and a glamorous blue glow that ruled the evening of dance and music, and of course Belgian waffles. The bride’s embellished blue lehenga by Seema Gujral matched the decor completely, while the groom looked dapper in an all-black attire.
London Lunch
A British-themed lunch was hosted the following day to celebrate Nihar and Miloni’s time in London.
Wedding
After a vibrant journey through the cities of the world via the themes of their functions, Nihar and Miloni tied the knot in a ceremony inspired by their new home – Mumbai. Riding in on a shiny red mountain bike, the groom’s ivory and blush ensemble matched the bride’s pastel lehenga by Kalki Fashion perfectly. Donning a custom made sherwani, the couple’s fur baby Rancho completed the family picture.
Advice for Couples
Miloni shares, “The entire experience became smooth sailing once we identified our strengths and focused on those. Nihar managed the technical aspects, and I took lead on all things creative. This joint effort helped pull our wedding together without chaos. Learn to pick your battles instead of locking horns over every decision. And if planning isn’t for you, its always good to place your trust in a wedding planner.”
