Namrata and Oliver, JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu
Family members from the UK showcased an energetic dance performance to an Indian song, winning the hearts of everyone at the reception.
Namrata and Oliver’s wedding was a grand showcase of Indian traditions. Planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – DreamzKrraft, the splendid celebrations paid a fitting tribute to the couple’s touching relationship. The groom shares with us the details and highlights of the big day.
How They Met
“Namrata and I met at a wedding in Delhi where my friend was marrying her cousin. I thought she was a great girl and kept complimenting her at every opportunity. Through the course of three wedding events, we got to know each other better and even went out on a date before I headed back to the UK and her to Mumbai. We agreed it would be nice to stay in touch, so we spoke a lot over Skype before going back and forth between the two countries visiting each other.”
The Proposal
“I first asked Namrata’s family for permission to marry her, then I surprised her over Christmas in 2017. I flew to India and went down on one knee at a rooftop hotel that looked over the sea at sunset.”
Wedding Venue
“Our wedding was hosted at the JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. Our outdoor ceremony was not far from the sea.”
Wedding Planning
“We had DreamzKrraft to take care of our wedding decor. They understood the vision we had for our dream day and gave us exactly what we were looking for. The team from Aniket Mazumdar Photography were our wedding photographers and the pictures that they clicked are some of the most beautiful reminders of our wedding.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
“This was the first traditional event that we hosted and the decor displayed shades of pink and gold. Tassel-like elements with gold details covered a large expanse of the ceiling, making the venue look festive without going overboard.”
Mehndi
“Our haldi was followed by the mehndi. The venue, as well as decor for this event, was the same as for the previous one. Namrata looked stunning in a green Riddhi Mehra lehenga while I opted for a white kurta from Anita Dongre.”
Cocktail Party
“The cocktail party was possibly the liveliest event at our wedding. Lots of catchy numbers had our guests dancing away. The delicious drinks added to their enthusiasm and vigor. Fairy lights and white flowers were the key elements of the setup.”
Wedding
“Pink and white were the colors that ruled our wedding. We had an abundance of roses in these shades as part of the floral arrangements. Staying true to her Indian traditions, Namrata chose to wear red and looked absolutely stunning in a lehenga by Anita Dongre. I complimented her attire in a white sherwani.”
Reception
“The mood at our reception was an extension of the atmosphere at the wedding. The venue looked stunning, the highlight being our stage, which was enveloped in white flowers and lush foliage with enchanting pink lights. All our guests, especially the ones from the UK, had a great time at this event. Our loved ones from India were delighted to see the enthusiasm with which they performed an Indian dance on stage.”
