This couple’s rustic open-air wedding mandap surrounded by the hills was perfectly bohemian and bookmark-worthy!
An exuberant union that flaunted a series of high-octane festivities, entrepreneurs Neha Vijayan and Tanmay Sawant’s fusion wedding was punctuated by cheerful moments. Capturing the couple at their stylish best as they tied the knot was WeddingSutra Favorite – Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul.
How They Met
Neha shares, “We were introduced by our mutual friend at first. However, after the initial conversation, we lost touch and didn’t speak for almost a year. After a bit, we did get into a conversation online and bonded over our shared love for EDM music. But, as fate would have it, he would be flying to the States to study in a matter of months and I wasn’t too keen on a long-distance relationship. Thankfully, things worked out for the best and we thrived together.”
Wedding Planning
Being an aesthetically aware couple who wanted their wedding to be captured in the best possible manner, Neha and Tanmay opted for Knotty Affair which left them impressed with their skills. Weddings Functions
Dakshina Kodukkal
The wedding commenced with an intimate pre-wedding function where the family bestowed gifts on the to-be-married couple. Decorated with white mogra blooms, brass diya stands and banana leaves, the function was a serene one hosted under the starlit sky.
Mehndi
Surrounded by lush greenery and adorned with minimalistic decor, the mehndi was a sundowner celebration. As everyone got henna patterned on their hands, they also grooved to their favourite tunes under the night sky.
Cocktail Party
Next in line was a quirky cocktail party which took a cue from pop art when it came to props. Hosted indoors, this celebration consisted of energetic EDM music and a full dancefloor as everyone swayed and danced energetically.
Haldi
The next morning, the couple hosted a close-knit haldi ceremony where their loved ones were at their playful best. Decorated with pink, yellow and white blooms along with brass urlis within which the couple sat, the haldi was filled with smiles and multiple flower showers.
Pool Party
With the sun shining brightly overhead, everyone had a gala time at the pool party as they cooled off and let their hair down with playful banter. Floating plastic flamingoes and creative cocktails made everyone high-spirited as they partied the afternoon away.
Sangeet
Next in line was a glitzy sangeet which commenced with a cake-cutting ceremony and a romantic moment on stage where Tanmay went down on one knee to propose to Neha. After this, the couple’s families set the stage on fire as they showed off their moves under the limelight.
Wedding and Reception
Adorned with gold tropical leaves and pastel hues, the couple’s open-air wedding mandap gave them a clear view of the hills that surrounded them. Exuding soft glam and vintage boho vibes, the wedding paid homage to traditions while embracing new design elements.
As evening fell, the newlyweds hosted their reception at the same venue and chose to go with the same decor. Fairy lights were added for a dash of bling, while the couple had a gala time dancing to their favourite tunes under the starlit sky and posing for the lenses.
