Nidhi and Umang, Juhu, Mumbai
This couple journeyed from their first meet in Canada to a lifetime of happiness in Mumbai.
Nidhi and Umang, family friends, whose parents finally managed to successfully get the duo to meet over a planned dinner, instantly hit it off when they met. They recently got married in Mumbai where WeddingSutra Favourite – Swaaha Wedding Management Co. planned their wedding to perfect and WeddingSutra Favourite – Movie’ing Moments captured all the intimate celebrations from their special day.
How They Met
Nidhi and Umang met for the first time at a family dinner in Canada where their parents played cupid on a planned get together. Since the time they first spoke, sparks flew between them. Friendship brewed over many dates, and before they knew it, they were head over heels in love with each other. Nidhi shares, “It was when Umang had to leave for London to further his career, we realized we did not want to stay away from each other anymore and decided to tie the knot.”
Wedding Planning
For their wedding conceptualization, design and management, the couple along with their families unanimously picked Swaaha Wedding Management Co. (WMC). Their team beautifully transformed their dream wedding, making it even better than they’d envisioned it. The team of Movie’ing Moments with their remarkable photography skills managed to capture all their fun and candid moments.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
After seeking blessings from the divine lord with a Siddha Chakra Pujan, the couple kicked off their wedding celebrations with a Bohemian themed mehndi function where everyone stepped forward in their vibrant and festive best. Ace mehndi artist, Akshaa Shah translated memories into beautiful designs that adorned the bride’s hands. Nidhi posed for the camera and twirled around prettily in a poppy and teal colored ensemble from Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika.
Sangeet
The Sangeet night saw lots of grooving and dancing. From well-synchronized dance performances by friends and family to solo acts by the bride and the groom, the evening had all the ingredients of a Bollywood-worthy sangeet celebration. The bride owned the night in a gold-colored statement piece by Rare Heritage.
Cocktail
Their cocktail party themed ‘Shimmer Night’ saw lots of glitter and a whole lot of shimmer where the couple made a jaw-dropping entry in complementing black and red outfits, and the guests welcomed them with party poppers and pyro fireworks. Post the cake cutting, the guests poured down their drinks and showed-off some epic dance moves. Nidhi took glam to a whole new level in an EyeCandy by Pinky and Sheshank black outfit.
Haldi
After their wedding invitation got drafted and crafted at the Lagan Lakhvanu and Mameru ceremony, the couple hosted the Haldi ceremony overlooking the Arabian Sea following a bright yellow and classic white color palette for the decor. Dessert stalls with candies and ice-cream were a favorite amongst the guests. Floral backdrops, dhol walas and lots of Holi colors were enough to set the festive mood for the evening. The bride and groom were glowing in their matching pink outfits.
Wedding
The couple said their final ‘I do’s’ at a beautiful wedding ceremony where the bride stole all the limelight entering in a floral open palki wearing a velvet maroon Sabyasachi lehenga. Umang picked a white sherwani with a maroon stole that matched his lady love.
Reception
Their wedding was followed by a lavish reception in Mumbai which was packed with Instagrammable moments. White flowers dominated the entire venue with lots of dim lights adding to its mystical charm. Nidhi picked a stunning Gaurav Gupta number for the final evening.
