Nikita and Divyanu’s relationship transitioned from friendship to love with absolute ease and before they knew it, their families met up and they were hitched. Held at the sumptuous ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa this couple celebrated their nuptials with equal amounts of elegance and splendor surrounded by their loved ones.
How they met
Nikita shares, “Divyanu and I have known each other since college but it was only a couple of years later that we decided to give each other a chance. Luckily for us, the journey from friendship to love was smooth. We didn’t overthink our relationship at all and just went with the flow. Time seemed to fly and before we knew it, our families met, and everything just fell into place naturally.”
The Proposal
For these best friends turned life partners, a wedding proposal was just another formality. Nikita recalls, “Mutually we both knew that we wanted to spend our lives together and there was no need for him or me to say it out loud. However, Divyanu did go the extra mile and formally proposed to me months after the Roka ceremony.”
Wedding Venue
Held at the posh ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, their wedding was a picturesque affair all thanks to the expertly landscaped gardens, Indo Portuguese architecture and the sprawling seaside lawns. Offering an array of indoor and outdoor venues, this property ticked all the boxes with the sheer variety it had to offer along with its famed hospitality. The guests also got plenty of opportunities to indulge their taste buds and wind down post the celebrations at the hotel’s gourmet restaurants and bars. The happy bride shares, “With the vision of having a beachside sundowner wedding in mind, Divyanu decided that the ITC Grand Goa would be the perfect venue for us. In fact, he was the one who took complete control of the wedding preparations and I was pleasantly surprised once I landed in Goa and saw the venue.”
Wedding Planning
Taking on the elaborate task of planning a wedding away from their home base, the couple chose a team of stellar vendors who successfully pulled off this spectacular wedding. Planners Siddhivinayak Events arranged every event meticulously bringing the duo’s vision to life. Photographers Twogether Studios captured every emotion with dedicated effort and expertise. Invitation designers Square Dot Designs created a unique musical e-card that reflected the couple’s personalities. Choreographer Revati Khattar rehearsed with the duo tirelessly to make sure that not a beat was missed. Last but not the least, makeup artists Niketa Kuar and Anu Kaushik highlighted Nikita’s best features to make her look stunning in each shot.
Weddings Functions
Haldi
A colorful and sunlit affair the groom’s Haldi had plenty of fun-filled moments where his friends generously smeared him with turmeric. Held under the blue canopy of the sunlit sky, everyone glowed with happiness and shared friendly banter while Divyanu got his pre-wedding glow on.
Following Divyanu’s lead, Nikita’s Haldi was also a fun-filled affair with distinctly vibrant decor. Staying true to tradition, the venue was swathed in hues of yellow and orange with pops of pink in between. For this ceremony, the bride chose a bright yellow salwar set with an embroidered neckline.
Mehndi lunch
The mehndi lunch proved to be the perfect setup for the guests to mingle in and break the ice. Everyone was at complete ease as they got henna patterned on their palms and indulged themselves with delicious finger foods.
Sangeet
When in Goa, one just can’t resist a party! A dazzling event, the Sangeet pulled all the right stops with its ultra-glamorous theme and decor which included an LED backdrop and a glittering stage. The duo shook a leg to hit tracks and were enthusiastically joined by their friends.
Glowing in a cobalt blue sequin lehenga, Nikita showed off her best moves with her to-be-husband who looked dashing in his tuxedo.
Wedding
For their wedding ceremony, the couple chose one of the sprawling lawns of ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa that gave them a prime view of the pristine Goan beach coupled with the breathtaking sunset. Decked with white and red flowers, the decor was minimalistic, and the mandap was the highlight of the occasion with its golden canopy adorned with blooms.
Looking straight out of a fairytale, Nikita beamed in an intricately embroidered white lehenga which she accessorized with kundan jewelry. Complementing his bride, Divyanu too opted for a white sherwani with an emerald necklace adding a pop of color to his attire.
Reception
Ending on a high note, the reception was held at the couple’s home base, Delhi, where they were blessed by their friends and family.
Advice For Couples
“Don’t obsess over details, instead, just enjoy the moments as they come. In the end, the person waiting at the end of the aisle matters the most, rest all is just noise.”, shares Nikita.
