Nikita and Prateek, City Palace, Jaipur
This wedding at a palace in the Pink City was a sight to behold.
Orchestrated and executed perfectly by WeddingSutra Favorite – IWP – Indian Wedding Planners, Nikita and Prateek’s wedding was a once-in-lifetime celebration, buoyed by unbridled joy and love. The bride shares the highlights of the events.
How They Met
“Prateek and I met at a mutual friend’s farmhouse, where we kept exchanging glances. It may sound cheesy but we both definitely felt something. This was followed by texts and calls, which led to a romantic date and a wonderful relationship. Our friendship mainly grew over phone conversations as Prateek was frequently traveling. However, this only added to the excitement and anticipation of meeting him when he was available.
We didn’t have a formal proposal. All the arrangements were finalized after our families agreed. All of us then celebrated with a drink at night.”
Wedding Venue
“Our wedding included 1,200 guests, including senior executives of Indian Oil. It had to be a grand celebration that reflected our Indian heritage. As Marwadis, we felt there was no better place than City Palace in Jaipur to tie the knot. Chandan Van was where we hosted our sangeet, while the reception took place at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur.”
Wedding Planning
“IWP – Indian Wedding Planners orchestrated our big day. They are a highly-experienced team of professionals who were eager to help and accommodate our requests. I would definitely recommend them.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
“The mehndi was all about bright colors and Rajasthani decor. As someone who has roots in Jaipur, I wanted this function to show off the art and culture of the state. The event was relatively small and intimate but big on emotion and joy.”
Sangeet
“The evening of our sangeet was extremely enjoyable. We wanted a lively ambience, with light drapes and chandeliers dominating the decor. There were live performances by talented musicians who entertained the guests. However, the one person who was met with the loudest applause was Prateek!”
Wedding
“Our wedding was a spectacular event that emulated the splendor of a royal celebration. Fragrant roses effused their sweet scent and elegant drapes adorned the venue. Even the photo booth had a romantic yet regal look to it. There was a wall with recessed shelves that held lamps and red roses, with a heavy armchair in the same hue in front. It was the perfect place for guests to take a seat and have beautiful portraits clicked.”
Advice For Couples
“Let your wedding be a reflection of your personality. Don’t feel any need or pressure to follow trends that may not match your style. Pay close attention to planning and be sure to delegate responsibilities.”
