Niriksha Mehta and Rohan Shriram, Taj Palace, New Delhi
A relaxed wedding that saw guest comfort and easy, intimate moments celebrating the couple’s personal journey.
Niriksha Mehta and Rohan Shriram met on a trip to Jaipur and clicked instantly. When planning their wedding, they wanted a celebration that was real, fun, and full of warmth. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Tailormade Experiences, and hosted at Taj Palace, New Delhi, the wedding was a reflection of this vision. Well-thought-out sections such as a Tuck Shop, a 24×7 lounge, and a kids’ area across the wedding events gave guests spaces to relax or spend time in between functions.

Wedding Planning
Shashank Gupta and Zashank Bhatia of Tailormade Experiences say, “The couple wanted each function to feel different, while still being warm, personal, and easy for guests. The haldi was bright and happy, with lots of yellow and sunflowers to keep it fresh and cheerful. For the welcome lunch and mehendi, they kept it fun and interactive with Live Experiences. The reception was the grandest, with a rich red palette and a royal feel to end things on a high.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
The celebrations started with separate Haldi ceremonies for the bride and groom. Niriksha’s Haldi was filled with laughter as her family applied haldi followed by a fun flower shower. With a décor of marigolds, Rohan’s haldi was celebrated with his family and had the same easy, happy vibe.

Welcome Lunch & Mehendi
The welcome lunch and mehendi was lively afternoon affair. Along with family performances, there were interactive stalls like a chudi bar, lip balm station, potpourri stall, and a matcha bar. Thoughtful giveaways for the men included blue and orange pocket squares.

Sangeet
The Sangeet was high energy and full of fun with performances by family and friends and a live set by The CopyCats that really got everyone going. Niriksha’s and Rohan’s performance together was a special highlight of the glamorous evening.

The wedding took place in an open-air setting and started with Rohan’s baraat. He arrived in a vintage car after the safa ceremony. Baraatis were handed quirky badges, adding a fun element. After the varmala and petal shower, Niriksha entered under a phoolon ki chadar with her brothers who escorted her to the mandap that was adorned with flowers. The ceremony then continued with Rattan Mohan Sharma performing during the pheras, which added a beautiful, soulful touch.
