Nitika and Archit, Shaurya Garh Resort & Spa, Udaipur

Nitika and Archit tied the knot in the City of Lakes in the company of their loved ones. WeddingSutra Favorite Perfexion Events is to be credited with bringing style and glamour to their celebrations. The bride tells us about the wedding that left both of them overwhelmed.

How We Met
Our first meeting was arranged by our families. It lasted a few hours and was enough for us to realize that we were right for each other.

Wedding Planning
Perfexion Events planned our wedding to perfection! Working with them was a wonderful experience. Not only were they a very well trained team of professionals but they also have a very well established network of vendors. They’re the reason behind the success of our wedding. A big thank you to the Perfexion Events team, all the designers, our photographer, makeup artist, and everyone else who made our wedding beautiful!

My makeup was amazing thanks to Ojas Rajani and Mr. Badal Raja captured this special day for us in stunning frames.

Wedding Functions

Sufi Night
As the first main event of the celebrations, the Sufi night was in place to set the tone. We’d imagined an opulent affair with regal aesthetics and Perfexion Events breathed life into our vision. The color palette was purple and yellow. The entrance passageway was decorated with large Rajasthani paintings, printed drapes and flowers. The function area was dotted with circular canopies for guests to sit under and a gorgeous enclosure for the bride and the groom up front. Other elements such as peacocks, chandeliers and the grand stage added to the beauty of it all.

For this function, we invited Mr. Javed Ali who, with his amazing repertoire of songs created a charming atmosphere for all our guests. Some of our family and friends performed to different songs which was great fun.

Pool Party
We hosted this event the following morning at the Trident Udaipur. We used blue, pink and white for a cheerful, relaxed vibe. The swimming pool was full of pool toys and there were tons of quirky props – cutouts of sunglasses, slippers and more – incorporated into the decor. We gave away umbrellas as wedding favors so our guests could make use of them even during the function and also arranged for fun activities for them to take part in. Archit and I entered with people dressed as toy soldiers and this really helped create a buzz and get the party started.

Sangeet
Our sangeet was held at the Jag Mandir Palace and the entire venue was decorated in white and gold. The elegant aesthetics were enhanced further with touches of green via fresh foliage. Archit and I arrived at the venue on decorated boats and fireworks were set off as we reached. Both of us then exchanged rings inside a jharokha with all our guests looking at us from below. This moment, indeed, was spectacular. Salim-Sulaiman were invited to perform at this event and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly as they sang and danced along.

Wedding
I can hardly describe in words how beautiful our wedding was. The ceremony took place at Shaurya Garh Resort & Spa and Perfexion Events created for us a setup that looked straight out of a Bollywood film. Red and gold were the colors for the night and added a sense of richness to all the arrangements. We even had a circular seating area that featured a large ice sculpture. I entered on a large golden throne and felt every bit like a queen. Complete with a mouthwatering spread, our wedding was truly, one to remember.
