Opulent decor and heady performances combined with Marwari rituals for this grand wedding
Palak and Bhavik’s traditional wedding was a memorable occasion which included Rajasthani grandeur, heritage decor, rousing music and dance performances. The celebrations were planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Swaaha Wedding Management Company, while the stunning decor was executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – DreamzKrraft.
Wedding Planning
A wedding in the family is always a joyous occasion, especially when it is one held after a decade, which it was for Bhavik and Palak’s families.
The enthusiasm for the wedding was sky-high, and the couple’s loved ones wanted to host many festivities with a different flow. To turn their dreams into a reality, they entrusted the events to Swaaha Wedding Management Company, who planned the celebrations for six months and pulled them off flawlessly. Wedding Functions
Sanjhi
The sanjhi ceremony was a close-knit traditional function that marked the beginning of the ceremonies. The lively function, which included just close friends and family as guests, included customary music and dance sessions by the ladies of the family and mehendi artists, as singer Archana Mahajan entertained the gathering.
Sangeet
With 2,000 guests and performances that stretched over two hours, Palak and Bhavik’s sangeet was a long gala that kept everyone entertained. Actor Jay Bhanushali anchored the festivities, while the 120-people team of Happy Dancing Feet lit up the stage with their energetic dance performances. Darshan Raval added to the charm of the night with his hits like ‘Chogada’ and ‘Kamariya.’ The groom however, stole the show with his impressive entry on a hydraulic prop in the center of the venue.
Haldi-Holi
A holi-themed sundowner celebration, the haldi was organized with Punjabi pomp and splendor at the picturesque sea-facing US Army club. The couple was carried in on a traditional rope bed to the beats of Punjabi drummers and folk dancers. Elements like rustic rope beds, Punjabi hair braid ornaments and food counters serving street snacks and drinks helped create a vibe of a true Holi celebration.
The lively event saw fun activities like bull rides, hopscotch, caricature art, hammer hit, and a mini Ferris wheel that kept the guests entertained, as Anchor Ayush Kumar kept the high spirits going. Soon Rudraksh band took over the night with their power-packed performances, and the haldi, which was a more intimate event, that ended with a shower of flowers.
Wedding and Reception
The baraat arrived at 5 pm at the NSCI Dome, with the groom making an entry in a luxurious vintage car. The baraatis danced as the garlanding ceremony commenced. The decor exuded a royal Rajwadi vibe with a color palette of scarlet, ivory, and gold in elaborate floral arrangements and elegant chandeliers. A flute mermaid in a shell structure kept the arena resounding with music after the garlanding ceremony.
The grandeur of the two families demanded fitting opulence in the arrangements for the night which saw a daunting guest list of 3,500 people. The wedding nuptials began at midnight, and the pheras was an intimate ceremony with just close family and friends in attendance.
