Pallavi and Dishant, Pune
This couple’s wedding mandap festooned with more than 8000 pink and white hued blooms was a vision of elegance.
Pallavi and Dishant first encountered each other at a family picnic but it wasn’t till a year later that they rediscovered each other and sparks flew. After three years of dating, the duo finally got hitched in a series of breathtaking ceremonies orchestrated and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Q Events and Weddings who brought the couple’s vision to life. Giving them a lifetime of memories were Weddingsutra Favorite – Isrrani Photography whose skill behind the lens ensured that not a single precious moment was missed.
How They Met
Pallavi shares, “Dishant and I first met at a family picnic and it was uneventful. However, one year later, we bumped into each other again on my birthday. Eventually, we began dating and got married exactly after three years! Somehow, I always knew that Dishant and I were meant to be together, but never envisioned such a joyous occasion. We’re poles apart as individuals and that’s the beauty of our relationship. There is no boredom when we’re together as both of us are constantly urging each other to try new things. But deep down, our core values are the same.”
Wedding Venue
Envisioning a fun-filled and close-knit wedding, the couple chose The Corinthians Resort and Club located in Pune. Pallavi says, “I always wanted an intimate ceremony. I do believe that a wedding should always be a joyous occasion which allows people to come together and celebrate. When we visited The Corinthians Resort and Club, the classic Greek architecture swept us off our feet. Also, connectivity wise, Pune is easily accessible from Nagpur, which is where I’m located.”
Wedding Planning
Pallavi shares, “For Dishant and me, weddings involve emotions and unforgettable moments to experience with close friends and family. With three functions each in both Nagpur and Pune, we had a lot on our hands. Keeping this in mind, we made every effort to make sure that not a detail was amiss. I plunged myself completely into the planning. Every function and decor element was discussed in detail. It took us several months, multiple phone calls coupled with innumerable text messages to get everything right. We were very lucky to have Damini Oberoi of Q Events and Weddings on board, who did a fantastic job. They worked with us tirelessly through day and night and almost became our extended family. Our vision came true all thanks to them, and they gave us everything we dreamed of. Isrrani Photography brilliantly captured the essence of our wedding, and our wedding film was incredibly high on emotions.”
Adding to the team were planners and decorators Shaadi Baraati, photographers Jabc Inc. Studio, makeup artists Hriya Marfatia, Richa Dhillon and hairstylists Megha Wadekar, Meenal Agarwal. Lending her divine tunes to the couple’s phere ceremony was Hiral Kamani with her mellifluous Vedic chants.
Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Echoing a distinctly rustic theme, the mehndi ceremony was replete with floral decor accentuated by wooden elements that added an earthy charm to the entire venue. The couple’s customized monogram surrounded by a wreath of flowers made the perfect photo backdrop.
As the bride danced to the beats of the dhol in her contemporary grey lehenga accessorized with floral jewelry, the groom also joined in on the fun and shook a leg with her. For the occasion, Dishant kept it light in a checkered kurta set.
Pre-Wedding Carnival
A fresh and breezy event, the pre-wedding carnival followed a bohemian theme that included a mint blue canopy that sheltered the guests from the sun and also included casual seating areas for optimal relaxation. Adding a pop of color to the fresh blue and white color palette were vibrant florals that were tastefully added as table decor. Staying true to the theme, there were plenty of entertaining activities like the limbo and dhol to set the mood right.
Cheered on by their family and friends, the couple made a smashing entry with Pallavi sporting a pristine white floral co-ord set, and Dishant in a mint blue blazer paired with a yellow shirt.
Ring Ceremony & Cocktail
Following the theme of ‘metallic silver and balloons,’ the engagement and cocktail night set the glamor stakes high and witnessed everyone turning up in their best finery. With an LED backdrop and silver themed stage, this function paired glitz with the right amount of tradition to create a venue that looked straight out of a movie. For the ring ceremony, the duo’s rings were presented in a unique floral ring tray decorated with blue and lilac blooms. Dancing to the beats of DJ Sumit Sethi, the couple and their guests took the dancefloor by storm with their moves.
Pallavi was the showstopper and glowed in her navy-blue sequined gown as she twirled on stage with Dishant who looked dapper in a tuxedo.
Wedding
With more than 8000 roses adorning the mandap, the wedding resonated a ‘royal heavy florals’ theme and was replete with delicate blooms in the hues of white and baby pink. A circular structure with a canopy of floral hangings, surrounded by elegantly curved white grills and fairy lights, the couple glowed with happiness as they took their vows in this spectacular mandap. The venue also followed the same theme with similar floral decor that contrasted against the dark sky.
Reflecting on the theme, the bride chose a beige and pink embroidered floral lehenga that she accessorized with emerald encrusted jewelry. The groom also followed a similar color palette with a pastel green bandhgala with pink floral embroidery details on the collar and sleeves.
Wedding Reception
For the wedding reception, the duo chose to go for an ‘English white crystals’ theme that reflected beautifully on the stage which was decorated with sheer white drapes, crystal wall hangings, LED candles and flowers. The couple’s chrome silver monogram also stood out amongst the floral decor and hung proudly over them as they received guests and posed for pictures.
Contrasting against the white decor was the groom who donned a black suit for the occasion. Pallavi, however, chose a delicate shade of pink with an intricately embroidered lehenga which complemented the dreamy decor.
Advice For Couples
“Our wedding was a reflection of our personalities. It was the first of its kind event for both of us which helped strengthen our bond as we made choices together for the wedding. I think all couples should thoroughly enjoy this process and be equal decision-makers in it.”, shares Pallavi.
