Parthivi and Nikhil, The Lake Resort, Uttarakhand
Set in the wilderness, surrounded by nature, this rustic wedding is an inspiration to those who love the great outdoors.
Parthivi and Nikhil tied the knot at a scenic waterfront venue surrounded by their loved ones at The Lake Resort in Naukuchiatal, aptly known as the ‘lake of nine corners’. The milestone was beautifully-documented by WeddingSutra Favorite – Weddingrams.
How They Met
Sometimes love comes knocking at your door; sometimes it needs a little push. For Parthivi and Nikhil, the latter proved true in their romantic journey. The bride shares, “We met through a matrimonial agency and ended up talking over the phone for many endless nights”.
The Proposal
“Once we were introduced, it felt like we had known each other from another lifetime. The instant connection was surprising as we come from very different backgrounds and have a completely different upbringing. We had nothing in common yet we were alike in so many ways. He then asked me, ‘Are you ready to take a leap of faith?’ I said, ‘Yes!’.”
Wedding Venue
“We wanted a waterfront venue with good weather. The Lake Resort in Naukuchiatal fitted this brief perfectly. Arjun, the owner of the resort, went out of his way to help us plan our dream wedding.”
Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
The couple’s pre-wedding photoshoot took place at Hotel Noormahal in Karnal. The grand hotel provided the perfect aesthetics and backdrop. It was just what the couple and the team at Weddingrams, had envisioned for the shoot. Parthivi wore a pink and yellow lehenga, while Nikhil dressed in a grey suit. The couple looked royal in each well-framed shot!
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The mehndi marked the beginning of the couple’s wedding festivities. The decor for the ceremony had a rustic vibe with earthy tones and elements, wooden Chiavari chairs and a swing decorated with flowers and fronds. The couple dressed in color-coordinated yellow outfits and were welcomed with confetti and glitter. The lake provided a magnificent backdrop for portraits of the happy couple and their guests.
Sangeet
The sangeet took place in the evening, with the venue decorated with hundreds of lights. For the lively ceremony, the bride wore a blue and golden-yellow outfit with ornate jewelry accentuating her dainty neckline. The groom looked sharp in a pinstriped suit. The couple and their guests were in high spirits as they spent the evening dancing.
Haldi
For the haldi ceremony, the bride wore a pastel-peach outfit with golden embellishments and kaleerein, while the groom wore a pastel-blue kurta. It was an auspicious yet fun affair with joy and laughter filling the venue as guests smeared turmeric all over the couple.
Wedding
Inspired by their gorgeous natural surroundings, the wedding decor consisted of whimsical interpretations of the wilderness around them. The elegant mandap was made of foliage and decorative weaves, with comfortable seating for the guests overlooking the lake. The wedding took place in the evening and looked magical as the incandescent lights were turned on. For the pheras, the bride wore a heavily-embroidered peach lehenga, paired with a beautiful baroque jewellery set. The groom wore a pale-peach sherwani and a pink turban. The bride arrived on a ghodi (horse) and walked towards the mandap flanked by her brothers who held a woven chadar with floral accents over her head. Parthivi and Nikhil shared adorable and heartwarming moments during the ceremony, which were beautifully captured by Weddingrams.
