Parul Gupta and Oberoi Dutta, Radisson Blu Resort Dharamshala
Be it a boho chic-themed mehndi, a glitzy engagement or a regal wedding with Mughal-inspired designs - each event at this wedding was elegant.
Dr Parul Gupta, a psychiatrist and Dr Oberoi Dutta, a dermatologist’s wedding was simple, and elegant and exuded a sense of warmth that made everyone feel welcome. Bringing their vision to life with their creative flair was WeddingSutra Favorite – Shaandaar Events who seamlessly planned their 3-day wedding.
Wedding Planning
Karan Bains from Shaandaar Events shares, “Parul and Oberoi wanted their wedding to be more of a love language for them and for their family & friends, so as their wedding planners, we kept them in mind at every step along the way, from the décor to the food, music, and dancing. The couple envisioned a cosy destination wedding replete with aesthetic and unique decor. Being their wedding planner and someone whom they trusted with their big day, the most important thing was making sure they had a good time. No detail was too big or too small for us. Our dedicated team planned and organised a meaningful ceremony for that while making sure they and their guests truly enjoyed the ceremony. We handcrafted each element with elegance, style, and creativity.”
Weddings Functions
Engagement
Karan shares, “Prior to the wedding, the couple hosted a vibrant Engagement party. There were a number of dance performances and the fairy night-themed party was glitzy with jewel tones. Exotic foliage, disco balls and riveting stage backdrops came together to frame the couple’s rousing celebrations as they danced the night away with their loved ones. The decor appeared natural as if it had always been there. We created decor and mesmerising lights to illuminate their evening ceremony.”
Mehndi
Sharing how they orchestrated the boho chic-themed mehndi, Karan shares, “Our aim with the boho Chic Mehendi theme was to make it all look totally effortless. Our chic boho decoration brought in elements that reflected the free-spirited nature of the couple with a playful touch of sophistication. Crafted exclusively to highlight the venue and the joyous celebrations, the minimal made their Mehendi celebration stand out. The boho chic Mehendi was designed with a turnaround time of seven hours and was exactly how Parul and Oberoi imagined it to be! The soothing earthy palette for the occasion included macrame hangings, cane and jute elements, flowers, pampas grass, and dried palms. The décor was designed to reflect a relaxed, boho vibe, with dream catchers and macrame hangers strung along the trees and filament lamps lighting up the entire event.”
Haldi
The celebrations started with a Haldi ceremony that had it all—lots of playful moments of slathering turmeric paste, good food, and even a flower shower. Their Haldi palette featured an equal amount of blue hues and sunshine yellows elements.
Wedding
Karan shares, “For their May wedding colour palette, the duo settled on a royal blend of red and gold with pops of magenta. The breezy canopy of drapes and string lights cast a warm glow over the lush outdoor setting that included a whimsical mandap of foliage and chandeliers, the stage was inspired by Mughal aesthetics, and a dinner setup with long tables and green centrepieces. Since these shades were bold, we were quite careful while using them to ensure nothing looked excessive.”
