Prarthana Khemka and Vibhu Agarwal, The Leela Palace, Chennai

A wedding with the grandeur of royalty and the sweet gestures of a thoughtful couple.

A regal procession of the bride featuring South Indian details was the highlight of Prarthana and Vibhu’s wedding that was hosted at The Leela Palace, Chennai, ticking off the wishes by both the bride and the groom.

The bride envisioned a celebration that exuded elegance and grandeur, while the groom wanted to incorporate South Indian elements to honor Prarthana’s roots. Wedding Functions
Haldi/Mehendi
The Haldi/Mehendi was a family affair and the venue turned into a garden of sunflowers. As the groom was bathed in turmeric paste, the guests got henna applied, getting ready for the festivities ahead.

Baraat
For the Baraat, the groom’s family envisioned a lively Delhi-style celebration. This was brought this to life with a high-energy DJ van, vibrant dhol beats, and striking special effects that set the perfect tone for the festivities.
The couple’s grand entry, inspired by classic North Indian wedding traditions, beautifully balanced Leela’s royal grandeur with Delhi’s exuberant spirit.

Wedding
The wedding mandap was set in a traditional temple, highlighting authentic Tamil details, and followed by a delightful South Indian breakfast. A shelf full of lit candles made for a mesmerising visual and the palette of white complemented the traditional interiors of the venue. The bridal entry was curated as a regal procession—a queen’s grand entrance into her palace, gracefully escorted by her two brothers and loved ones.
