Rasneet Anand and Shrey Doshi’s one of a kind love story was celebrated with a dreamy sea-front wedding at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. WeddingSutra Favorite – Castles & Coasters were entrusted to bring their vision to reality, while every moment was frozen in gorgeous clicks by WeddingSutra Favorite – Sam & Ekta. Read on to learn how their story unfolded.
How they met
Some believe in luck, while some don’t, and then there are some fascinating stories of destiny that you just can’t ignore. Rasneet and Shrey first crossed paths as young teens on a guided group tour of Australia. Years later their paths nearly crossed again when Rasneet started going to the same college as Shrey’s cousin, but always kept missing each other at family occasions. It was finally in 2018 when they matched on Hinge and were sitting across the table on their first date that they felt a familiarity, and their history of near misses unraveled. The rest as they say is history!
Wedding Planning
The original wedding plans in Mussoorie were scrapped short of the big day due to the Pandemic restrictions, and were later re-planned for the beautiful oceanfront Taj Lands End in Mumbai for the comfort of the couple and their guests. The celebrations were planned and executed by the team of Castles & Coasters. The talented team re-located the festivities with perfection, creating two days of memorable celebrations. Namha Malhotra, founder of Castles & Coasters, talking about her experience shared, “We have gotten the chance to work with them multiple times, first for their original wedding and then after COVID, and we feel like we truly have become an extension of their family in the last two years. A roller coaster of emotions, the experience not only strengthened our bond with the couple but also helped us use this in favour of the execution of the project. The flow of ideas and execution was excellent and it showed at the wedding in each and every function. Each event had a distinct style & flavour of its own, and were a pure reflection of our couple.”
The couple entrusted the photography of their wedding to Sam& Ekta. They share, “We found Sam & Ekta on Instagram and instantly fell in love with their work. They were our first choice during the entire course of wedding planning. They’re true magicians behind the camera lens and have an incredible knack for making the most shy and uncomfortable of couples at ease while all the same, enjoying every moment of being captured! What makes them even more special is that they make all friends and family members feel very involved in the wedding.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The first day began with a vibrant Haldi and Mehndi function. An abundance of marigolds drenched the lively celebrations with joy, making for beautiful memories in the afternoon sun. Dressed in a lime green lehenga and a cream sherwani respectively, the bride and groom along with their fur baby looked like the perfect family as they danced and enjoyed with their loved ones. After an outfit change, the couple sat down for their Haldi rituals, where they were doused with turmeric and flower petals.

Sangeet
The glitz and glamour of Sangeet night followed the first function. Shimmering lights, neon signs and canopies of exotic foliage and geometrical chandeliers decked the night of dance performances, games and merriment. The couple dazzled in outfits by Rimple and Harpreet Narula, as they danced the night away with their friends and family to the tune of Hari & Sukhmani and DJ Madoc.
Wedding
Soft pastel hues were used to orchestrate the sublime wedding décor, creating the ambience and aura of an enchanted garden. This was perfectly complemented by the dress code of the guests as well. The groom’s sage green sherwani breathtakingly complemented the bride’s delicate blush lehenga, as they took their pheras under a canopy of flower baubles.
Reception
The festivities came to a close with an elegant outdoor Reception dinner. String lights crisscrossed overhead, casting a charming glow over the evening, while canopies of green scattered with shining baubles added to the splendor of the décor. The celebration included fun games, speeches and live music by Aryaendra Shekhar. The groom looked dapper in a tuxedo while the bride shimmered in a ravishing red gown. A rocking after-party had everyone dancing till the wee hours of the morning.
Advice for couples
“For couples in the near future who are planning their wedding amidst Covid guidelines, we suggest you choose a place that would be convenient for all your loved ones to attend easily. It all definitely lies in the details, so plan as much as needed before hand, but on the big day let loose. Enjoy your wedding day, because the memories will be engraved in your hearts forever.”
