Raveena and Ronak, Mumbai
The couple shares their wedding planning experience for their Mumbai celebrations inspired by the palaces of Udaipur.
It is often said that distance is only a test to see how far love can travel. For Raveena and Ronak, it crossed borders effortlessly and knocked on their hearts. With WeddingSutra Favorite Perfexion Events by their side, the duo pulled off regal nuptials resplendent of Rajasthan in Mumbai. Another WeddingSutra Favorite Israni Photography captured all the emotion and excitement deftly. Bride Raveena shares with us the highlights of their wedding.
How We Met
“Ronak and I met for the first time in a rather awkward setup that was arranged for by our friends. However, we didn’t let embarrassment get the better of us. Instead, we brushed off the whole situation by laughing at it and continued to keep in touch. At the time I was studying in Milan while he was in India. Eventually, despite the distance, we got closer and finally decided to open the next chapter in our lives which was marked by a grand wedding in Mumbai.”
Wedding Planning
Raveena and Ronak’s wedding was tastefully conceptualized and immaculately executed by Perfexion Events.
Israni Photography, on the other hand, ensured that every special moment from their nuptials was preserved in timeless frames.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi and Haldi
“Our mehndi was a showcase of Rajasthani traditions and culture and vibrant aesthetic. We had an entire Rajasthani bazaar set up, and dances were performed by our families. To add to the excitement, we even had a ‘Phoolon ki Holi’ (Holi played with flower petals). We had invited Parthiv Gohil to the function, and he guided this event into a soulful Sufi night, thereby making it a mesmerizing affair. I wore a green lehenga for this function and Ronak opted for a powder blue kurta and Patiala trousers by Manish Malhotra.
Sangeet
“Once all the smaller functions were through, it was time for a larger than life sangeet with stunning performances by our family and friends, lots of music and even more glamour! This function truly made a statement, and once the choreographed dances were over, Amit Mishra and Nikita Gandhi had the crowd grooving to their tunes. The setup was made to look like this was a red carpet event. I wore a blush Falguni and Shane gown, while a Shantanu and Nikhil outfit was Ronak’s pick.”
Pheras
“Everything about this day was a reflection of Rajasthan. Right from the decor that was inspired by the palaces of Udaipur to the traditional sit down Rajasthani dinner, everything was planned to make the ceremony look like a royal occasion. We had invited Ameya Dabli to perform at this event, and his soothing voice took the rituals to the next level. My pheras outfit was a vibrant pink and orange creation by Tarun Tahiliani, and Ronak wore a Raghavendra Rathore creation.”
Reception
“This was our final function and had a fair share of emotional moments. After the father-daughter dance where my dad and I got teary, Ronak and I had our first dance. The decor was as dreamy as was the music by the Merlyn Band. Their songs made all of us dance, and with that, the wedding ended and left us with the sweetest memories. Ronak chose to go Western for this function and opted for a Bobby Macc tuxedo while I wore a bottle green lehenga by Manish Malhotra.”
