Their shared understanding, unwavering trust and quiet companionship made it seem as though they had known each other forever. Wedding Venue
Set amidst expansive greenery and overlooking the tranquil Damdama Lake, Taj Damdama Lake Resort & Spa, Gurugram, offered a versatile setting for every celebration. From its lush lawns and charming amphitheatre to its intimate courtyards, each space lent itself beautifully to the couple’s vision, creating distinct experiences while maintaining a sense of effortless flow throughout the festivities.

Wedding Planning
Planning the wedding was made easier by the couple’s clear vision. For Dexterity Events, the focus was never on creating the biggest celebration, but on creating one that guests would genuinely remember. Every detail, from the relaxed welcome lunch and glamorous Sangeet to personalised giveaways, interactive experiences and a unique DIY Hamper Market where guests could create their own welcome hampers, was designed to make everyone feel involved.

For the wedding ceremony, the brief was simple: a traditional red wedding with a subtle twist. Introducing burnt orange into the floral palette brought warmth and depth to the classic décor without taking away from its timeless appeal. The couple had always envisioned getting married in the resort’s amphitheatre. But as the baraat arrived, heavy rain changed those plans. The planning team quickly recreated the mandap in the courtyard, ensuring the ceremony could continue seamlessly. Amid rain, smiling loved ones, and an atmosphere of togetherness, the unexpected change became one of the most memorable moments of the wedding.

Wedding Functions
Mehendi & Welcome Lunch
The celebrations began with a relaxed afternoon inspired by the fresh colours of spring. A palette of mint green, blush pink and earthy terracotta created a light, cheerful atmosphere that perfectly suited the pleasant March weather. Guests entered through terracotta installations before stepping into a garden filled with suspended floral drops, adding movement and softness to the décor. Interactive experiences including tote bag customisation, personalised bangles, sparkle tattoos, a parrot fortune-reading station and refreshing coconut water counters kept everyone engaged throughout the Mehendi and Haldi festivities.

Sangeet
As evening fell, the mood shifted to a glamorous Bollywood-inspired celebration. Rich crimson tones, statement chandeliers, elegant lounges and dramatic lighting transformed the venue into the perfect setting for a night of performances, music and dancing. The after-party ended on a high with a surprise appearance by a lively gorilla mascot, who quickly became the centre of attention and gave guests a moment they wouldn’t soon forget.

Haldi
For the Haldi, the couple chose a refined Dior-inspired aesthetic in shades of powder blue, white and sunshine yellow. Tree installations adorned with flowing hangings, delicate florals and artistic décor created a setting that felt fresh, elegant and playful. Interactive experiences once again encouraged guests to mingle and enjoy the celebrations beyond the ceremony itself.

Wedding
The wedding embraced a timeless palette of traditional reds, elevated with burnt orange florals that added warmth and texture to the overall design. A grand Jaimala stage became the focal point of the evening, while a live artist captured the couple’s first moments together on canvas.

Then the rain arrived. Just as the baraat entered, the skies opened up. Instead of allowing the weather to overshadow the celebration, everyone embraced it. While the team worked behind the scenes to recreate the mandap in the courtyard, guests danced in the rain and enjoyed every unexpected moment.

The Jaimala went ahead as planned before everyone gathered for an intimate ceremony beneath the newly created mandap. Rather than disrupting the celebrations, the rain became part of the story, making the wedding even more meaningful for everyone present.

Advice For Couples
When asked what advice they would share with future couples, Aseem and Riddhi smiled and said, “Believe in fairytales; they still happen.”

They also added, “Choosing the right planner is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. Social media can give you inspiration, but speaking to previous clients and trusting the team you choose matters far more. When you have planners who truly understand your vision and stand by you through every challenge, even an unexpected downpour can become the most magical part of your wedding story.”
