Rijul and Sonia, Tijara Fort-Palace, Rajasthan
This Kashmir-themed reception adorned with plush rugs, rich hues and lanterns exuded equal parts of glamour and warmth.
Rijul and Sonia’s destination wedding in a heritage fort palace was an intimate one with the couple embracing unique themes for each event. Photographing the union was WeddingSutra Favorite – Karma Productions who with their skills and creativity captured the couple at their finest.
How They Met
Rijul shares, “Our story is quite simple. We were both attending the same college. I was a year older than Sonia, and we met through a mutual friend. It was late at night when our friend called my friend and me to come to her place for pizza. That’s when I first met Sonia, who was my friend’s roommate. Two years after that night, we started feeling something for each other and decided to give it a go. It’s been 10 years now!”
Wedding Planning
Photographing the couple as they tied the knot was Karma Productions. Impressed by the photography team’s dedication and creativity, the ecstatic newlyweds shared, “We loved everything about them. The only thing we felt after receiving the final deliverables was that we didn’t give them enough time to capture everything! Before the wedding, we had planned extensively for various scenarios, frames, and the story we wanted to portray. We are incredibly grateful that we chose Karma Productions to capture it all. They were attentive throughout the event and captured everything beautifully. We were thrilled with the final product, and our families also appreciated our choice of such a wonderful and courteous team that delivered fantastic photos and videos.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
Using conventional haldi decor elements with traditional Rajasthani designs, the haldi resembled a Rajasthani mela. Rijul shares, “Elements were picked from the ‘Rajasthani Mela’ concept and merged with lots of marigold flowers. The food menu was also set as it would have been in a fair with stalls brimming with cotton candy, chana jor garam, nimbu pani, kufli, jalebi, etc.”
Sangeet
With the theme ‘Desi Bling’ the sangeet was a glitzy affair. Lanterns, fairylights and vintage candlestands gave the venue a magical glow. Meanwhile, the couple and their families took the stage by storm with their energetic performances.
Wedding
At the wedding, the pastel color palette reigned supreme! The theme ‘pretty in pastels’ included soft hues, like, beige, cream and ivory. Additionally, even the guests adhered to the color palette by donning pastel-colored outfits.
Reception
The ‘Kashmiri Royal’ themed reception transported the guests to a cosy world surrounded by Kashmiri, sufi, and Persian elements. Rugs, lanterns, wooden elements, spices, shikaras and much more adorned the venue for this unique out-of-the-box reception theme.
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Just enjoy the entire wedding planning process. After your wedding is over and time has passed, it’s the wedding planning phase that you’ll miss and cherish the most. In some cases, even more than the actual wedding itself. A wedding is a one or two-day event, but it takes months of planning to reach that stage. So, cherish and enjoy this phase.”
