Ronak and Devang, Fairmont Udaipur Palace
A wedding that celebrated minimalism while also reflecting royalty.
When Ronak Binani and Devang Bisani were tying the knot, they envisioned a celebration that reflected “Modern Royalty”. Hosted at the Fairmont Udaipur Palace, they wanted the celebration to utilize the majestic architecture of the venue without the event feeling stiff or overly traditional. Brought to life by WeddingSutra Favorite – Kairos Event and Entertainment, the celebration balanced the grandeur of Udaipur’s heritage with a sense of intimate, personal warmth. From a fragrance bar where guests could have custom scents blended to a customized speakeasy lounge bar for the couple’s closest friends, tiny details ensured that the guests were at the forefront of the planning!

Wedding Planning
Sumeet Maloo of Kairos Event and Entertainment says, “It was important for the couple that the wedding felt like a curated experience for their guests, blending the opulence of a palace destination with high energy, contemporary vibes. The wedding was designed as a multi-sensory journey through the lawns, with each event featuring a distinct aesthetic shift. To satisfy a request for a specific lounge area for the couple’s closest friends, we repurposed one of the restaurants into a midnight speakeasy, complete with custom upholstery that matched the wedding’s color palette. The couple wanted a ‘guest journey’ which we addressed by installing a ‘Fragrance Bar’ near the entrance, where guests could have custom scents blended based on the floral themes of the day—a unique takeaway that was specifically requested to make the Udaipur heat more pleasant.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome
For the welcome, the aesthetic was ‘regal minimalism’, highlighted using marigolds and brass elements to complement the hotel’s existing intricate stone carvings.

Sangeet
This was a high-octane production. The team transformed the ballroom into a royal space, using deep tones, accented by kinetic lighting and a massive LED backdrop to bridge the gap between traditional architecture and a modern party atmosphere.

Wedding
The standard ‘vintage car’ entry was eschewed, choosing instead a grand procession that utilized the Fairmont’s sweeping driveway, featuring a custom-curated folk ensemble that performed modern pop hits using traditional Rajasthani instruments.
The mandap was set against the backdrop of Shiv ji (Adidev) with the Aravalli hills, and featured an ethereal “floating floral” design using pastel roses to create a soft, romantic contrast against the palace’s rugged exterior.
