Rucha and Chinmay, JW Marriott Hotel, Pune
Brimming with adorable moments and unfiltered joy, this couple chose to keep it simple with a wedding that paid ode to their traditions.
Rucha and Chinmay’s wedding was filled with cozy moments as they celebrated their union amongst the people closest to them. Photographing their wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – GB Photo Film who captured stylish portrait shots of the couple as well as playful candid moments where they expressed each other freely.
How They Met
Rucha shares, “We first met through common friends. Our relationship took its time to grow as we tentatively got to know each other better over a course of a few months. And once we were sure, we exchanged promise rings!”
The Proposal
Rucha recollects, “Chinmay surprised me with a grand proposal that consisted of beautiful red roses, candles and backdrop with ‘will you marry me?’ written on it. He went down on one knee and proposed with the prettiest ring!”
Wedding Planning
Impressed by the team at GB Photo Film, Rucha shares, “The GB Photo Film team is highly skilled and proficient. They were so cooperative and patient with us as we went ahead with the wedding prep. All our ideas were duly noted beforehand and executed flawlessly.”
Weddings Functions
Haldi
Flaunting minimal decor with colorful bells and tassels cascading from the ceiling, the haldi unleashed everyone’s playful side as they slathered Rucha with turmeric.
Mehendi
Rucha shares, “I wanted the mehndi to be cozy and private so I chose to host it at my home. The whole backyard was decorated with vibrant colors and props and we made it a fun night with engaging games and dance performances. I also serenaded Chinmay with a song which left him quite surprised!”
Cocktail and Sit-Down Dinner
Rucha shares, “The cocktail and dinner were mainly for the younger members of the family. The guests raised a toast for us and made heartfelt speeches which made the night feel magical. Overall, it was an elegant event that also came with a side of glamor.”
Wedding
Rucha shares, “I’ve always liked the classic architectural style that temples have. So, for our Maharashtrian wedding mandap, we took cues from temple architecture to create a unique structure. We planned our entries down to the last detail where Chinmay walked in under an elaborate umbrella while I walked down the aisle with my brothers holding up the phoolon ki chaadar above me.”
Reception
The bride shares, “For the Reception all stops were pulled to make it a memorable night for our 1000+ guests. Hosted under the starry sky on a vast lawn where the guests mingled freely as they greeted us and enjoyed a sumptuous spread.”
Advice For Couples
Rucha advises, “A week before the wedding, just let go and relax. Let things flow as they would and savor each day. Make a detailed plan in advance and enjoy the time you spend with your loved ones!”
