Wedding Planning
Firm believers in the fact that true warmth can only be found at home, Saanya and Rahul wanted this sentiment to be reflected in every aspect of their nuptials. Spurred by their abode, they designed their save-the-date invitations, wedding decor and in-room hampers keeping this thought in mind. Bride Saanya shares, “We believe that a house becomes a home when it is filled with love. This is something Rahul and I hold very dear, and it’s exactly what we wanted our guests to feel. In each of our wedding festivities, we have tried to infuse this concept to make everyone feel a sense of belongingness and compassion that accompanies home.”
With the bride’s company Three Entertainment designing the wedding, the planning was spearheaded by. Saanya’s besties and co-founders of Three Entertainment, Sanjana Shah and Aashna Lalwani were her pillars of strength as she navigated through the whirlwind of wedding planning.
Wedding Functions
Roka
The ‘Disco Jungle’ themed roka took place in Mumbai. Inspired by Rahul’s passionate proposal in Kenya, the couple’s love for wildlife was reflected in the event’s theme, a stunning combination of glam metallic events interspersed with foliage and animal prints.
Mehndi
After the roka in 2023, the couple commenced their wedding celebrations in February with a cheerful mehndi event. Fusing the best of vintage and contemporary styles, the decor featured an array of dainty flowers, intricate chandeliers, and a stage with colorful prints accentuated by a stunning floral arch flaunting rainbow-like hues.
Haldi and Chooda
Sunny yellows set off by green hues dominated the color palette at the haldi and chooda ceremony. A stunning sunflower canopy, larger-than-life yellow blooms flanking the couple’s seat and brass urlis added a dash of quirk to the conventional color palette.
Wedding
The wedding was themed as ‘Love Laps at the Racecourse’. Dressed in classic red the bride and groom geared up for a union attended by industry A-listers, like, Bollywood director Kabir Khan actor Kartik Aryan and celebrity stylist Tanya Vohra. The bride honored her mother, Ritu Sharma, by wearing a lehenga designed by her. The event carried a touch of whimsy with white blooms with gilded stems sheltering the aisle, cold pyros and red decor elements. The wedding rituals were followed by an after-party that took place at one of the venue’s banquet halls.
Sangeet
Bringing the festivities to a glamorous end, the sangeet featured black mesh flowers, LED signage and a vast stage. Shaped like a home – the stage was embedded with infinity mirrors to symbolise the beginning of a new home that the couple will build together with their union. The evening brimmed with heartfelt moments, spontaneous jigs and energetic dance performances.
