Sameeksha Madan and Tanmay Arora, Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Alibaug
This couple’s sunkissed mehndi event looked stunning with its melange of blue, yellow and pink hues.
Sameeksha Madan and Tanmay Arora’s union exuded minimalistic glam by artfully using ambient lights and soft hues. The close-knit wedding was planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Works who accurately understood the couple’s tastes and ensured perfection when it came to guest hospitality. Hosted along the shores of the Arabian Sea at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Alibaug this wedding was surrounded by beautiful natural vistas which accentuated the beauty of the union.
Wedding Venue
Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, the couple chose Alibaug which is a ferry ride away from the city. Fringed by beaches and surrounded by nature’s bounties the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Alibaug was perfect for a close-knit wedding. Featuring 156 hotel rooms, suites, and villas on lush, manicured grounds – this property was the perfect canvas for the couple’s dream wedding.
Wedding Planning
Nehal Sagar from The Wedding Works tells us about the brief that the couple shared, “The couple was looking for a quaint but cozy wedding which was interactive and inclusive of the huge family they had. The bride’s family was a joint family with about 30 people staying under the same roof. We noted down special requests from every family member for a seamless hospitality experience. On the decor front, everything was minimal with emphasis on elegance.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Entering with a burst of colour bombs, the bride made a dashing entry to her mehndi celebration. And, while she got her hand patterned with henna, Tanmay had a fun time dancing to dhols. White and pink blooms, an aqua blue dancefloor and dainty blooms adorned the venue.
Engagement and Sangeet
As evening fell, the glamour quotient was amped up a notch for the engagement and sangeet where the couple entered with the lighting of cold pyros. Fairylights gave the outdoor venue a golden glow and red roses added a dash of opulence. As the ring exchange ceremony took place, Tanmay went down on a knee to propose to Sameeksha all over again!
Haldi
Eschewing a conventional haldi with a phoolon ki holi, the couple took a more fun approach to this event with a rain dance party! After the haldi rituals were done, the guests along with the to-be-weds had a gala time dancing to the tunes of a live band under the showering rains.
Wedding and Reception
Keeping the couple’s minimalistic tastes in mind, the wedding was a close-knit affair with a peach-hued mandap bedecked with pastel blooms. An entryway lined by ornate white floral vases welcomed the guests and led them to the mandap. Strings of fairylights were suspended from tree branches creating a magical ambience.
