Samriddhi And Nitesh, Visakhapatnam
Highlighted by elegant pastel decor and a mesmerizing backdrop of the clear ocean, this couple will give you serious beach-wedding goals!
From an unconventional proposal to a vibrant beach wedding, this couple has done it all. Samriddhi and Nitesh planned a pastel themed beach wedding on the serene coast of the groom’s hometown in Visakhapatnam. The candid emotions of the couple and their family were elegantly captured by WeddingSutra Favorite – Happy Flashbacks. The beautiful bride shares more details about her dreamy wedding functions below.
How They Met
Samriddhi shares, “We met each other at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner, and I’ll be honest it wasn’t exactly loved at first sight. He was wearing this silly t-shirt with a watermelon on it which became an inside joke for us from that day on. We didn’t connect for a while after that. I took a leap of faith and sent him a request on Instagram which, thanks to social media became a game-changer for us. We connected well with each other and since then we never looked back and soon fell in love. We became an official couple on the day he flew down from Vizag to Delhi just to say “I love you” to me in person! That was the day I realized that he was the one.”
The Proposal
Breaking all the societal conventions, Samriddhi got down on one knee to pop the question to the love of her life. She shares, “I never thought I would be the one to go down on my knees for any man in my life. But then, love makes you do things you never imagined you would. I planned to propose to Nitesh on his birthday. I decorated a lounge at a friend’s house with flowers and balloons which read “Marry Me”. When he entered the place, he was taken by surprise. I took the ring out and went down on my knees. His reaction was honestly worth it, and I would totally do it all over again!”
Wedding Venue
The gorgeous bride shares, “I had always dreamed of a beach wedding. So, we naturally started destination hunting at places like Goa, Pondicherry and Kerala. Then it suddenly struck me, Nitesh’s hometown – Vizag! It was a perfect place as it meant so much to him. My family and I flew down there. We looked at all the properties and finalized ‘The Park’ as it was the perfect venue connected to a beach”, she shares.
Wedding Planning
The bride shares, “Our wedding was entirely planned by my Mother. She isn’t a professional wedding planner, but she is a perfectionist and has an amazing aesthetic sense. I honestly believe that no wedding planner could have done it as well as she did! She planned the decor for all the functions. She also gave us our ideal digital wedding invitation design idea.”
“Our wedding photographers were Happy Flashbacks. They are an extremely creative and talented duo. They documented all our candid moments beautifully and made the whole process so much fun! They were always the only choice for me even before I met Nitesh. My make-up artist was Shubina Sood. There was absolutely no one else I would trust with my makeup other than her. She’s an excellent artist.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Facing the sea, the Mehndi ceremony was an open-air event held at a beautiful lawn. The pearl-white chairs looked perfect on the green lawn. The decor for the event included floral elements which made the venue look vibrant and colorful.
Samriddhi shares, “The decor, which was designed by my Mom, looked exactly like a rainbow. I wanted it to look bright and colorful, so I stepped in and gave her a few ideas of my own.”
Samriddhi dressed in a white lehenga with mirror work which was designed by her and her mother. They got it customized from Antatah Fashion. A gold choker and earrings completed her look. Nitesh donned a hot pink kurta and an orange Nehru jacket, which was designed by the mother-daughter duo and customized by Antatah Fashion. The couple, along with their guests grooved to the sound of the dhols and enjoyed the night!
Engagement / Sangeet
While talking about the decor the bride explains, “For the Engagement and Sangeet ceremony, we wanted everything to be white with an elegant touch of gold.” The decor at the event was filled with gold and white flowers hanging from the top. The venue also had a photo booth with LED lighting with the initials of the bride and groom.
Samriddhi dressed in a red ruffled gown with delicate jewelry. Nitesh wore a three-piece royal blue suit. Both their outfits were designed by Antatah Fashion. The groom and his groomsmen performed various dance numbers on stage and entertained the guests at the event. At the end of the night, the bride and groom performed a romantic dance on stage.
Haldi
The Haldi ceremony was a small function with close friends and family. The decor for the event was in vibrant shades of yellow and orange. The bride wore a colorful saree. The guests at the ceremony also dressed in those shades to compliment the bright decor.
Wedding
“The wedding was pink and dreamy. It was by the beach just like I imagined it to be. With the most beautiful decor I had ever seen, it was honestly a dream come true”, shared Samriddhi. The ceremony had an open-air mandap on the scenic beach of Vizag, with decorations of white, red and pink flowers.
While the bride entered under a phoolon ki chaadar alongside her brothers, the groom danced his way to the venue on a chariot with the baraat.
The gorgeous bride wore an elegantly embroidered pastel pink lehenga by designer Shobika from Delhi. Her delicate pink bangles complemented her look along with her exquisite neckpiece and earrings. Her look was completed with the most perfect smoky eyes by Shubina Sood. The groom donned an ivory sherwani along with a pastel pink stole by Antatah, to match the bride’s outfit. He completed his look with red beaded jewelry and a regal red Safa.
The couple exchanged varmalas on a small stage with the majestic backdrop of the crystal-clear ocean. Their friends and family rejoiced, and the newlyweds were showered with flower petals.
Reception
The dazzling decor at this function was one of a kind. The Reception had red decor with a mesh of fairy lights. The couple entered the reception ceremony hand-in-hand, on a red carpet with fireworks behind them.
The bride looked surreal in a red Banarasi-Bandhej lehenga. She shared, “I wanted to wear a lehenga in which the kali’s were alternate with one being Banarasi and the other one Bandhej. My mom and I went fabric hunting. We finally found it after searching the entire city. We had it designed from a boutique near our house in Faridabad.” The groom dressed in a blue achkan with tone on tone embroidery and a red Banarasi-Bandhej stole by Antatah, to complement the bride’s outfit.
The guests were musically entertained by the wedding band. The bride and groom joined the dance floor along with their guests and danced the night away.
