Sanam and Adarsh, Udaipur
Framed against the rolling clouds, lush hills and stunning arches of the hotel terrace, the verdant mandap dotted with fuchsia blooms was a sight to behold.
Swapping out the big fat Indian wedding for a quaint, intimate celebration, Sanam and Adarsh tied the knot in a gorgeous Udaipur wedding with just 25 of their friends and families. With a stunning backdrop of the Aravallis, their joy was immortalized in soulful clicks by WeddingSutra Favorite – Priyam Parikh Pictures.
How they met
2017 turned out to be the turning point in Sonam and Adarsh’s lives. Even though they had known each other for a couple of years, it was in 2017 that they started developing feelings for each other, one day at a time. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and before they knew it, their lives and futures were firmly intertwined with each other. After two years of travelling, arguments, reconciliations, future plans and a thousand happy moments, they decided to take the plunge.
Wedding Planning
Originally planned to be a big fat Indian wedding with 800+ guests in Kerala, the wedding plans were changed to an intimate gathering of just 25 due to the current global pandemic. Hosted at the beguiling Aurika, Udaipur – Luxury by Lemon Tree Hotels, amidst the romantic rainy setting and lush backdrops, their beautiful moments were captured in breathtaking shots by Priyam Parikh Pictures.
Wedding Functions
Haldi and Mehndi Mela
Hosted by the poolside with a gorgeous view of the Udaipur City and Fateh Sagar Lake, the colorful Haldi and Mehndi set a joyful tone for the upcoming revelries. The vibrant yet minimalistic décor of flowers and props added to the beauty of the surrounding lush hills. The bride and groom looked radiant in sunny yellow attires.
Sangeet
The intimate, yet rocking Sangeet was a night of elegant, warm décor, a whole lot of fun and dance. The bride shares, “Even though we were only 25 people, we had 15 choreographed dances! All our guests love to dance, and were part of the performances, making it really special and memorable.” The couple shimmered in matching shades of silver and blue for the event.
Wedding
“Despite the rainy weather forecast, we were determined to keep the wedding outdoors on one of the most beautiful terraces of the property. The gorgeous lush mandap dark green leaves and pink roses looked stunning against the arches of the terrace,” shares the bride. Under a beautiful phoolon ki chaadar that matched the mandap, the bride entered in a blush pink lehenga that was perfectly complemented by the groom’s ivory and pink sherwani. As a sweet nod to the original wedding that had been planned in Kerala, a traditional Sadhya lunch followed the pheras.
Reception
The festivities concluded with an unusual, laidback reception, which started with a beautifully lit rustic sit-down dinner. After the meal, the reception was moved indoors for a night of dancing and merriment.
Advice for couples
