Sangeeta and Michael, Alila Fort Bishangarh, Jaipur
This couple’s intercultural wedding unfolded amidst the palatial grandeur of the Pink City!
British-born Michael married his Indian Bengali bride Sangeeta in a destination wedding with three days of non-stop enjoyment. WeddingSutra Favorite – Konark Events transformed each event into a mesmerizing spectacle. Witness the magic come alive!
How They Met
Their love story, like many modern romances, began in a familiar setting- their workplace. What began as a friendship first, blossomed and deepened during the challenging days of the pandemic when they found solace and support in each other’s company. Michael’s persuasive nature and undying belief in their relationship won Sangeeta over. Their shared passion for cooking, penchant for early nights, technology, and personal values brought them closer together. It wasn’t until a secret holiday to Mykonos, however, that the true depth of their feelings became evident. Their adventure continued in Cyprus where the fusion of history and modernity mirrored their own blend of experiences and aspirations. It was a moment of clarity that set the course for their shared future and thus began their wedding story.
Wedding Planning
The London-based couple tied the knot in Jaipur at the striking venue of Alila Fort Bishangarh. It was a two-day palatial affair which consisted of a Cocktail, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, and the Wedding. They entrusted ace Konark Events, who crafted each function with unmatched creativity and sophistication.
Wedding Functions
Cocktail
The festivities first began with a cocktail and poker night, where guests enjoyed a taste of the casino charm. Candles, mist, and flowers set an alluring mood befitting the occasion, while quotes and images of the bride and groom were placed on the poker table for a personalised touch to delight the guests. The bride shone in a statement gold saree, while the groom kept it chic with a velvet blazer.
Mehndi
The next morning, the Mehndi ceremony unfolded in the enchanting ambiance of a Bar-Palladio theme, reminiscent of a vibrant cafe in Jaipur. The decor, blending a rich blue and pink aesthetic, symbolized the attributes of the couple. Color bombs added a magical feel to the celebration, and a perfume bar offered guests custom keepsakes to take with them. The bride embraced the local sartorial flavors in a vibrant multicolored lehenga, while the groom wore a kurta set in soft sage green.
Sangeet
With the arrival of the evening, a tunnel of fairy lights led the guests into the Sangeet night. Filled with disco balls, plumes of flowers, and plush furniture, the night sparkled with glitz and glamor. The couple made a scintillating entrance in shimmering jewel tones, and the guests danced with abandon, celebrating the joy of the moment and the bond shared by the couple.
Haldi
The following morning the Haldi celebration took a colourful turn. The floral decor, in hues of yellow and fuchsia, lit up against the lush greenery of the lawns, while the striking sunflower arch around the couple’s seating setup stole the show! With organic colors and flower showers, the celebration was reminiscent of a Holi-ed Haldi.
Wedding
Finally, amidst the tranquil surroundings of the Bawri at Alila Fort, the couple bound their union. Against a unique floating mandap under a tree that symbolized the roots of their love and the promise of their journey ahead, the couple exchanged their vows. Surrounded by cascading flowers and crystals, traditional lamps, and more, the wedding culminated in an elegant and grand celebration.
