Ex-Indian Idol contestant and music influencer Saveree Joshipura married Saksham in a celebration that brought together music, emotion, and meticulous design. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dexterity Events, the two-day affair was thoughtfully reworked and streamlined to reflect the couple’s personality while ensuring seamless execution across closely scheduled events.
How They Met
Saveree and Saksham met on the first day of their undergraduate program in San Diego in 2016. What started as a friendship gradually grew into a steady partnership built on shared routines and quiet familiarity. Study sessions, discovering new restaurants and long sunset walks along the beaches of San Diego became the backdrop to a relationship that matured organically over the years.
Wedding Planning
When Saveree and Saksham came on board, Dexterity Events stepped in at a crucial stage. The couple was navigating multiple vendors and shifting opinions, and the planners took charge of consolidating the vision. Although the date fell in a month that was nearly closed out for the team, it remained available, a detail that later felt serendipitous.
The décor was initially intended to be executed locally. However, as the design narrative evolved, the entire wedding was reimagined within a month. New layouts, revised themes and a refreshed visual direction were developed, with key elements brought in from Delhi. The timeline was demanding. Day one included a welcome lunch and Mehendi, followed by an elaborate Sangeet. Day two began with the Haldi, transitioned into a sundowner wedding and concluded with a reception. With the wedding and reception venues located adjacent to each other, the reception décor could only be installed while the ceremony was underway, leaving a narrow window for transformation.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi and Welcome Lunch
The Mehendi unfolded as a garden celebration rooted in vibrant greens and fresh florals. A striking floral peacock installation marked the entrance, creating a strong visual statement from the outset. Within the garden, a fallen tree branch was reimagined as a peacock-feather-inspired installation, thoughtfully integrating the natural surroundings into the décor. The welcome lunch flowed seamlessly into the Mehendi, with a consistent colour palette guiding guests through the space. Interactive elements, including a parrot astrologer, tarot card reader, bangle stall, caricature station and fresh coconut counters, added a festive energy.
Sangeet
The Sangeet embraced a high-energy fusion of Punjabi and Gujarati influences, reflecting both families. The stage design leaned glamorous, with dramatic lighting, plush seating and a strong performance-focused layout. Garba face-offs, Punjabi dance sequences and playful couple games shaped the evening’s flow.
Haldi
The Haldi was intimate and sunlit, designed to feel relaxed and warm. A sunflower backdrop under the open sky set the tone, with a restrained yellow and white palette that complemented the natural light. The décor remained minimal yet cheerful, allowing the focus to stay on the rituals and close family moments.
Wedding and Reception
The wedding ceremony balanced scale with serenity. The aisle was constructed across the Mughal jet fountains, leading to a mandap placed on the main fountain, creating a striking architectural focal point. Abundant florals framed the space without overpowering it, maintaining a refined aesthetic. A customised wedding newspaper was placed on every seat, detailing the couple’s journey, highlights of Jaipur’s history, introductions to both families and interactive games. This thoughtful addition kept guests engaged during the pheras while adding a personal layer to the ceremony.
The celebrations concluded with a candlelit reception that transformed the adjoining venue into an elegant evening setting. Warm lighting and layered décor brought the festivities to a memorable close.
